We're going to shock some people me thinks...

All I know is that if we could almost beat NOLA with Jimmy Clausen...I think we have a legit shot at grabbing 2-3 division wins.

You never know what will happen in NFC South matchups

The Panthers crossed mid field once in that game. Brees just basically took a dump on the field.

You never know in today's NFL.

I'm still going to put $500 on the season total over if Vegas keeps us at 4.5 though.

Why haven't you bet already? Waiting for the line to move to 3.5?

I don't bet, but that looks like a clear winner. 5 wins? The Panthers aren't that bad.

6.5 seems more realistic.

To be quite honest the Bucs had a SICK draft

Adrian Clayborn - huge fan always thought he was underrated

Da'Quan Bowers - in the middle of the 2nd? seriously?

Mason Foster - steal in the 3rd

Luke Stocker - 2nd best te in the draft imo, in the 4th? steal

Ahmad Black - in the 5th? huge steal

Daniel Hardy - solid late pick

but watever they tha bucs thay suck we pwn they tha failz rawr lolz

I agree the Bucs had a good draft (except I don't agree as much about Clayborn, I actually think he's a little overrated. Bowers was a great risk to take in the 2nd) but I also agree with the guy that mentioned a lot of their players played above their talent last year. We'll see if the two rookies Blount and Williams can keep it up. Williams could very possibly be the real deal, I'm less convinced about Blount or any other non-QB skill player on the offense though.

I'm a huge fan of Freeman (although:

I like the Bucs...I like Freeman as much as any young QB in the league and HOPE that Cam is as good as he was in his first year.
not me, he was TERRIBLE in year one). The Bucs defense is still VERY suspect, especially pending the Talib situation. His trial isn't until 2012 as far as I understand, and the team reportedly is keeping him, but when a guy and his mother go out shooting places up, there's bound to be some pretty quick repercussions. They lost their 2nd best defender (behind Talib) in Ruud. Their LB corps sucks. Their defensive line sucks, but has potential to be solid if McCoy can play a lot better in his sophomore year and the two rookie DEs play better (and are healthier) than I think they will. Secondary is adequate with Talib, laughable without.

I say the Bucs drop to 8-8 or 7-9 unless the young DL steps up big time and the offensive players (other than Freeman, who I think is a very good QB) continue to play seemingly above their talent.

I'm not sure about Cam's abilty to make big plays in the passing game against an NFL defense as a rookie. I do think that Cam will have several opportunities to take off and scramble when pass plays break down. That can help us to sustain drives when the passing game falters, and force the opposing defense to try and contain Cam. My biggest concern is that Cam might be injured on one of his many scrambles this season.

The NFC South is loaded, but the injury bug can strike any team at any time. All things being equal, I don't see how we can compete with the Saints. I don't think the Falcons and Bucs are going to be as good as some think. The Falcons defense is terrible, and the Bucs have to rely on Freeman scrambling to keep their inconsistant offense on the field. The Saints worry me the most, and if Cam flops, they all worry me.
