IMO it all comes down to the cities.

Wilmington and Charleston are neck and neck.

However after that, SC doesn't hold a candle to the rest of the cities in NC.

And let's be honest, I would be ashamed to have Myrtle Beach as part of my state.

Myrtle Beach is the definition of a tourist trap. I avoid it at all costs.

Spent summers in Charleston and lived in Virginia Beach for a while. Virginia Beach is a far better place than Charleston imo. More jobs, better schools, more to do. But I still prefer living in the Piedmont to any coastal town.
