I look at several factors:

Roster and depth chart is fluid and may change but I see three potential problems that will keep us from being elite defensive team .Lack of a cb is key.medicore safties,missing a dominant DT.I fele we will finish a bit better than middle of the pack considering our schedule

On offensive, our coaches will have to pull a rabbit out of a hat to be a mid tier offense cosidering having inexperienced qbs.Our offesive line will have to stay healthy to move the ball down the field.We lose Otah and we are in the same situation we were last year.

Our schedule is brutal....we will have to get lucky and have one of our divisional rivals lose some people to injuries.I see five teams outside the division we can potetially win.We may get a freebie at the end of the season if someone sits their starters.We want make to winning season this year

panthers as a team rush for 3000 yards (ranking them 3rd in NFL history, but considering who all we have and how often they'll be running pushing 600x, it can happen)

9-7 record, but miss playoffs (looking at that schedule, it's very achievable. i actually think we won't break .500, but this is my bold prediction)
