Who will be our week one starter

DA is more only because he hasn't hit the field, yet.

now DA might start against the cards...i can see that happening just because he played there but whoever starts without newton written on the back of the jersey will be given a horrible time if they are at BoA. fans want to see newton play and, like it or not, right or wrong, they are going to be booing whoever it is until newton gets on the field unless that QB just happens to be lighting it up, which considering who the options are, isn't likely to happen.

I am not going to mind if Cam doesn't start immediately, but he definitely needs to start at some point in the season.

Jimmy needs to see some play time as well, but it depends on who starts first and if they are playing well.

As long as Jimmy gets a fair share of reps in preseason I will be happy, because he needs to be evaluated too. If Jimmy shows something good he will be an excellent trade at some point in the future.

I think that is a good question.....

but define struggle....are we talking about 2010 Clausen struggling where the offense does next to nothing

or struggling as one game really on (TDs everywhere), two games really off (turnover city).

If it is the 1st type, I say you pull him at the bye and sit him the 2nd half for more learning.

If it is the 2nd type, you let the year be a learning season and ride it out.

different situations.....

Clausen would be continuing struggling from last season where he was the worst QB in the NFL that year. Jimmy would be continuing as a starter and it would not just be 2 bad games to start the year.....it would be continious bad play spilling over from 13 games (10 starts) from last year.

Yea but the gay reference I gave to glossen is much more enjoyable of a not nice nick name than stuff like Sir Cameron Newton: Leader of Men, Lover of Puppies...Esquire.

Cam Newton vs. Jimmy Clausen. it's a competition between them two and it should be between them two. Anderson should be there as a 3rd QB that just helps them with the offense. IT should be down to Cam vs. Jimmy. Jimmy didnt look bad with the starters and Newton will now get HIS chance with the starters, if he goes and throws 2 TDs or scores a TD and a FG AND (of course) has no turnovers, Cam should start.

Cam has to be. If this guy is gonna be the face of the franchise you gotta march him out week one. Pickles and DA aren't gonna put butts in the seats or make anyone forget about Cam anytime soon. If Pickles showed flashes of anything last year I doubt we draft Cam. DA had a team Warner took to a superbowl and did jack. Fug this "not ready" crap, the kid will either rise up to it or fail. We can't afford to dick around with scrubs and baby the kid. Adversity won't break Cam if he is for real, didnt hurt Peyton, Troy, or Big Ben. I might be wrong but I think RR has the guts to do it.
