LB Jon Beason says Panthers defense will be 'blitz-happy and aggressive'

Not really worried about the defense...to be honest at all really. With Beason leading them and Rivera's defensive mastermind and versatility I am sure it will be at least solid. It's this whole 'attacking offense' with Cam that I am waiting to see be executed. That will be impressive.

Need another top end CB then. Can't exactly leave Munnerlyn, RJ Stanford or Robert McClain on an island.

Very true. That Johnson/McDermott defense is an aggressive style that relies on big plays which it will do. It is a double edge sword though and it will give up big plays as well. Eagles struggled with talent in the secondary and that is why they were one of the worst in the league at defending the pass under McDermott. I think the Panthers will do well with it though once everyone gets settled in. Definitely something for Panther fans to look forward to. It won't be boring that is for sure.

Good article, but everything I expected. I have ALWAYS LOVED Jim Johnson's defenses and put them right on par with the Steelers and Ravens in terms of style and aggression.

What gets me is we have had the personnel to blitz well for years. I hated that ghey assed Tampon 2 Bull poo.

Big problem with Foxball... Never adjusted to his personnel. Also, as the article mentioned, he was so conservative... Always letting the offense dictate what our defense did.

Not anymore, smack those MFers in the mouth, slam their weak, fragile bodies to the ground and tell them if they get up you're coming back to do it again. This is what this team was built for.

Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go wash up.
