The difference is Rodgers isn't going to cost us something, Samuel is. Samuel's contract goes up a lot after this year, I think I read somewhere it's like 10 mil either next year or the next. If the contracts and compensation were the same I'd prefer Samuel, but they're not. Rodgers is going to be a cheaper contract and we won't have to trade anything to the FA market to get him.

I think Rodgers would be a good #2 corner. Hell He can't be any worse than Marshall thus that makes him an upgrade!

Cheaper than Cromartie and we wont have to worry about trading anything to get him. Sure Samuel would be nice but would he be worth the big contract he is due in the future?

Not the star we all wanted but should get the job done and at low cost.

He's already got a big contract. There's not much future left for Samuel in the NFL. He probably won't last another full contract after his current one is finished.

I know, I am saying that his contract has him due about 10 million next season. I agree about him not lasting much longer which is why I don't mind us not getting him.

You have to live in Virginia or be a big Redskins fan to understand just how dysfunctional that organization is. How many times have the Redskins signed a free agent and they actually played well?

I'm on the fence with Rogers because he does catch a lot of flak from Redskins fans. On the other hand, I believe he is somewhat the product of his environment and it would be interesting to see if the change in atmosphere would be to his benefit.

The one thing no one has mentioned is that Carlos Rogers is *outstanding* in run support.

Of course, pass defense must be the primary emphasis at the position. And he's no slouch as a pass defender.

But combining his very good pass defense skills to his excellent run defense skills makes for an excellent all-around defender.
