Flacco and Sanchez walked into vet teams that had the schemes down...along with Top 5 defenses. We have a new scheme and potential on defense. Very different situations.

And, no matter how much of the blinded Cam lovers want to discount it, he DID come from a spread offense. He can make the transition, but it is a bigger growth than for an NFL style offense. Throw in that the coaches could not speakto him for months, and he has a major uphill battle.

I love his potential and his work ethic, but also realize his weaknesses at this time. I would be surprised if he starts day 1....and would be even more surprised if he was successful this season if he does.

This. And it is arguable that Cam wouldn't have even been a Top 10 pick had Carolina not needed him so badly they reached at 1st overall for him. And this is not a "bash Cam", post it's just the reality of where speculation was prior to the draft. Had Andrew Luck come out, I think we would have been Cam go somewhere in the 15 to 20 range without the hype as being the "best QB available". His agents did a tremendous job drumming up hype for him.

Then that makes Anderson one of the worst stop gap solutions we could have gone after.

I will defer to Rivera and Chud on who they bring in. Chud coached Anderson to success in this offense. He has worked with him up close. If he thinks that Anderson is the best solution, I will defer to that.

Does he make me overly excited? No.

Do I feel more confidence with him going early in the season over Cam? Yes.

Gonna be interesting and questionable either way they go.

All I can say is Cam please be ready week 1 and never get injured. kthxindavance

We have absolutetly no idea how Cam will play....yet you and so many others here think he is the only solution this season.

I will still bet you $20 that Anderson starts Game 1....care to take that bet?

You are on.....at least it makes it interesting.

I would love nothing more than to pay off on that bet....especially the plays well part.

Like I have said before....I love Cam's work ethic and physical tools. He appears to be doing everything within his power to be great. I only hope it translates to the field.

It does worry me some, because great athletes have not traditionally translated to great NFL QB's. Not saying that he won't....and again I hope and pray that he does.

I agree with you, I don't know what to expect from Cam. My only point is that I don't believe the other guys are now... or ever will be... any good. So I'm hoping Cam can do it as our backup plan(s) look gawd awful.

I think that Anderson can be servicable in Chud's offense. He got that out of him once....amybe Chud can work his magic just one more time.
