i dont want a vet unless he knows his role is at backup, but most are wanting to start and honestly, we need a CB more than a QB. Carlos Rogers should be visiting Monday, but like i said, i will wait and see, but i personally have little to no confidence in Anderson.

Derek was a product of chud if he can mold anderson into the probowler he once was im all for it. It'll give cam more time to learn the system.

So you don't want Newton to start day 1? You think Clausen would be a more viable option than Anderson? He can rush Newton to starting just as fast with the way he has played.

i will NOT argue Newton starting week one, he's the future and should start if he wins the job, Anderson is as bad as they come, he's had chance after chance to prove that he can start and he's blown them. As for Clausen being a more viable option than Anderson, yes. Clausen at least has played with Steve Smith, LaFell and Gettis and knows the city and it's fans and how over half hate him. Anderson wont know much about this area and couldnt even play well with Fitzgerald. i want the starter to be either Newton or Clausen. i personally only want a vet if they know they are here to tutor and not start.

if Anderson starts, i see them losing alot of games and Newton will be rushed into starting, Anderson isnt good enough to start in my book, he was beat out by Skelton.

I think that will be fine if Anderson bombs to go to Cam. I think that would actually be ideal because not only would it lower the expectations of what many would expect Cam to do, considering he would be taking over a team that wasn't performing at its highest capacity, it would also give Cam a few weeks of watching the action from the sidelines to pick up the speed of the game and to learn by watching instead of being forced directly into the action.

I don't see how Anderson starting could be anything but good for Cam to be honest if we're talking long term impact.

agree, he was, but i dont see him being molded into a pro bowler again. if he starts, it's likely they lose alot of games out of the gate, then he gets benched.

in the end if derek anderson wins the starting gig and wins us games i don't think anyone will mind cam newton sitting on the bench to continue learning the system.

but what's the point of keeping Clausen if you sign a guy like Anderson to start??? from reports i heard, they think Clausen can become a Schuab or Kolb, but if he's not beating out Anderson, i doubt any team trades for him.

very true, that's part of the reason i dont like him. Some fans of the NFL dont even know why teams are looking at him. For me, it's more on talent, he's a turnover machine that had one good year and i dont see any more good years.

DA is an easy target for some reporter or "fan" trying to get a rise out of someone. he's easy to provoke/manipulate into those outbursts and people think it's hilarious.
