Camp was all right this morning. I found a Gamble jersey on sale for $5.99. I know it's not news to anyone, but Cam superstar potential is much more obvious in person. When practice ended, people gathered at the railing and called over the usual suspects... Steve, DeAngelo, etc. Cam remained in the middle of the field. People kept calling his name. Cam simply looked at the crowd, and everyone raised their arms, autographables, and started cheering. Dear lord please let him be the real deal at game time.

They walked through a few offensive plays. With Cam in the shotgun, they twice ran the option with Gettis and Smith. Fans cheered.

Sure that is a lot of size and speed combined, but someone in the NFL could die running the option. Maybe a trick play once a year, shouldn't be a staple of an offense.

Yeah, Cam won't last long in the offense running the ball, let alone running the option.

Agreed, plus it was towards the end of practice; most likely the players/coaches throwing us a bone.

I don't have a problem with Cam running the ball, but I don't particularly like the option. The game at the NFL level is to fast to be running the option and there are so many things that can go wrong with a simple option as well such as a fumble, huge loss of yards, etc... The coaching staff needs to already be on the ball telling Cam that when he does take off running, he needs to either step out of bounds or slide because dicks like James Harrison will be trying to hurt, injure, and possibly murder (kidding) Cam. It just comes with the territory being a quarterback and a number one draft pick at that.

Also learn to tightrope the sidelines and tempt people to shove you one step out of bounds to get cheap 15 yd penalties. (aka the Mike Vick special)

Speaking of Vick...he ran the option in Atlanta a few years ago with some pretty good success, so it can be done on a limited basis.
