Source: Panthers Willing To Trade For Asante Samuel

Not a big Samuel fan, he's soft, but I'm certainly not opposed to it.
dude's great against the pass, though. not exactly a shut down corner, but QBs don't like throwing towards him. only had 40 targets last year. when the ball was caught, he did an incredible job at stopping the receiver. he was much better than gamble in that regard.

samuel > cromartie, but i'd be fine with either. cromartie could be around for longer and he's got experience working with rivera so he should be familiar with some of the things that they want to do defensively. samuel knows the system from mcdermott and jim johnson who taught both rivera and mcdermott.

Philly just sent Broderick Bunkley(14th overall pick in 06 draft) to the browns for a 5th round choice... Not saying Bunkley is a stud or anything but he's a hell of alot better than the DT's we have currently.

I would have thought the asking price for him would have been higher, maybe the same will be said for Samuel.

Wishful thinking.

wouldnt be surprised either way.

that contract plus a player would be an awful lot to give up.

might just make sense to wait until the demand/price goes down on FAs left on the market and hope for the best.

But then theres the risk we enter the season with Gamble and random bum who probably isn't even as talented as Marshall. If you want something, go get it!
