Cullen to Eagles

Philly was all ready good last year.... This crap is making them that much better....

With team they can probably win with VY even if Vick went down.... And it looks like they will be a force for years.

The NFC is freakin tough...

Vick, Aso, DJ, and the eagles

A-Rod and the Packers

Ryan, White, Turner, Jones, and the Falcons

Brees and the saints

A healthy Stafford, MEgatron, Suh+Fairly, and the Lions

Then you have decent teams who can always make a run like

Romo and the Cowboys

Manning and the Giants

Cutler Urlacher and the Bears

Finally you have young teams building the right way on the come up

Cam and the Panthers

Freeman and the Bucs

The NFC is going to be the BEAST conference for years to come..

The AFC just have a few strong teams at the top, No where near as deep as the NFC in terms of Quality IMO

Moving Samuel saves them roughly 9M, and if they get Vick long term, that will give them more room

Good point on Samuel.

I believe Vick is getting $5.2 M this year...not sure how much they would save on him.

The first year of the deal is for $1.6 million with the second-year option worth $5.2 million, sources told ESPN's Chris Mortensen. Vick can also earn an additional $3 million in incentives over the two years of the contract, sources told ESPN.com's Len Pasquarelli.

lol whatever, for so long the eagle fans would dump on teams like the cowboys and redskins who for sooo many years tried to buy a championship. And now they are doing the very samething.

I think the difference is those teams were garbage and tried to buy a team.

Philly was all ready a damn good team, and these are just add ons

I work with a lot of people in Philly and they think its OK for them to be hypocritical.

See my post above, I think it's two different things

One is trying to buy your core and key pieces to win a title... buying your team from scratch. Would not be favorites or decent without the signings.

The other had the core in place and are just buying add ons to make the team that much better. Even without the signings they would still be favorites.

That was from 09 - so that deal was for 09 and 10 - he was franchised this offseason

Of course, you're right...I was thinking this was his second year in philly. I forgot he backed up McNabb in 09.

So, he's hitting their cap at the avg of the top 5 QBs? Thats gotta be around $15M. They could clear a lot of space (which of course was your point).

more than that - last year's QB tag was 17.5M

I'm gonna laugh when these guys inevitably get hurt and all the depth they let go isnt there for them.

The injury bug is about the only thing that will stop them from at least winning the NFCE, they'll probably win it all.

The good news is Vick wants a long-term contract at $20 Mill per. There's no way the Eagles can pay that and keep their team intact.

Then again, if they win the SB this year, they won't care.
