Everyone knows we can't Trade PEP until he signs the Tender, Right?

Peppers has plenty of power even if he signs the tender. No team will trade for him if he's unwilling to play for them or sign a long-term deal.

But if he signs the tender we can trade him for a player and a draft pick or we can go down to a first and second round draft pick, so the power would shift to the Carolina Panthers Organization.

No it wouldn't because no one in their right mind would give the panthers two first rounders for him. When he signs the tender the panthers organization holds all the power.

Hold all the power to what? Make a player that doesn't want to be here play here another season?

In regards to trading Peppers, signing the tender doesn't matter. Right now even with Peppers not signing the tender the going trade according to Hurney is 2 1st. Nothing really changes.

All this means is that if the Redskins (A gm not in his right mind) wants Peppers, they can sign him right now, give him a contract offer, have the Panthers ignore it and the Panthers get 13th overall this year and their first next year.

Any other scenario involves some sort of trade which the Panthers MUST agree to which means they ARE having to work. It's not like Carey does all the work. It just means that it's a 3-way call rather then a 2-way call.

IF Peppers signs the tender, then no other team can sign him outright. They must trade for him. Peppers will then need to agree to the contract offer from the other team.

My take is peppers can't sign the franchise deal if we get less than 2 first round picks. If he signs he either stays with us or gets traded for 2 firsts.

You are correct, but if he signs the tender we can trade for another player and a draft pick or a first and a second round draft pick, but as long as he has not signed the tender, the only thing the panthers can do is hope that Peppers agent Carey finds a dumbass FO that will give up to first rounders for him.

Gotcha. This is because if he doesn't sign we can retract the franchise tag and trade him for less but if he signs we can't negotiate anything less than 2 firsts in a trade

Exactly and honestly I just want something in return that can help the Panthers Organization build on and possibly make Foxy's and Meek's job a little easier.

What is your point. What Asehudson's post says is that the balance of power doesn't shift if Peppers signs the tender or doesn't.

The only way the balance of power shifts is if Peppers doesn't want to be traded at all and wants to stay in Carolina. By signing the tender Peppers would make it easier for the Panthers to orcastrate a trade instead of Carey being the one working on trades.

he doesn't have all the power.

that is flat out a load of crap.

he has to do all the work but he is far from having all the power.

the panthers are judge and jury of any offer that any club gives him.

the other club (that peppers and his agent work with/find) can make an offer and we can match it or get their 2 first rounders.

if there isn't a club willing to do that then peppers has to find some team that can make us an offer that we will agree to. once they do that then we get him to sign the tender and then we trade him.

the panthers don't have to do any work. they don't have to shop him around. the burden of finding another team is on peppers and his agent. they have to find a deal and get everything worked out. if nothing can be and peppers wants to play next year then he will be back for a year.

The only thing him signing the tender would do is allow carolina to actually talk to teams about peppers, as of the moment they can't do that at all (they might still do it, as tampering has been done before, but it would be in direct violation of the NFLPA rules set forth for teams.

That means he has all the Power and our front office cannot negotiate with another team. That specific team has to tell Carl Carey what they will offer him and they will give Peppers the offer, Peppers can either turn it down or accept it, if he accepts it we can match that offer or the specifc team gives us to first rounders. If we have pep sign the tender we can trade him to a team because he is under contract, DO YOU UNDERSTAND.
