Report: Ty Warren to be released

ty warren would be near the top of my lists of guys to bring in. 3-4 DE (which we need) and a 4-3 DT.

haven't heard why he was released other than for cap reasons. he from all reports is healthy and recovered completely from last year's injury.

Was exactly why I posted this. No doubt would be better than Ron Edwards, and doubt he would cost much. Wouldn't hurt to bring him in. What's the worst that could happen? We lose Nick Hayden or Ed Johnson... BUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA!

@ Rayzor... This could be the reasoning... How did none of us see this coming with the Haynesworth deal?

Eric Edholm

And more run game, you watch MT @Aaron_Nagler: Now that 3-4 trend has come full circle, Belichick starts to more 4-3. Always a step ahead.

Wow. Fat Albert and Wilfork in the middle... They still got Brace... Wow... Actually makes me think twice about his capability as a 4-3 DT if Belichick didn't think he would work there in it.

Still worth a look though.

Completely different type of player to Edwards and I think we almost need a true NT type to help our LBs make plays.

Ty Warren could work as a 4-3 DT, however I would suspect more thana handful of 3-4 teams will jump at the chance to sign him up...

However I wonder why they didn't try shopping him...? I guess they likely did...

Get Owned

Recently released DE Ty Warren is reportedly interested in returning to Texas to play in Dallas or Houston.

Warren starred collegiately at Texas A&M. He failed his conditioning test in New England, but insists his hip is no longer an issue. Warren was told the Patriots were "going in a different direction defensively," perhaps an indication that more 4-3 fronts will be used with Albert Haynesworth on board.

i'm thinking of edwards and warren playing side by side. edwards at NT and warren as the 3tech.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking too... I wasn't talking about them as in competing for the same spot (hence the Hayden/Johnson reference)... I was meaning Warren wouldn't hurt to bring in regardless as I would consider him the superior talent/pass rusher, with Edwards being the NT/stout clogger type guy.
