When are some people gonna realize that it's not the size of the contract that counts. It's the guaranteed money and how it's structured that matters. Most players never collect on the full value of the contract and Rob Rodgers, who is the actual cap guy now instead of Hurney, knows how to work the cap about as good as anybody in the business.

Sort of funny how rotoworld is trying to say we overpaid for Beason when DeMeco got 48mil and 21 million guaranteed.

The hard-hitting Beason was due just $1.338 million in the final year of his rookie deal. He's now one of the highest paid linebackers in league history. It's pretty unheard of for a "non-rush," 4-3 'backer to hit $10 million per year, let alone with so much guaranteed money. Beason is certainly a high-impact player, though.
