Also, did you not watch the Panthers games last year? Don't blame it on everyone else, Jimmy was awful, sure the rest of the team was bad, but Jimmy was REALLY bad. Stop making excuses for him.

Not making excuses, they are facts. I watched EVERY single game.

The running game didn't help, it was sporadic at best.

The offensive line was folding like a chair most of the time. Hence why you saw Jimmer throw away so many damn passes. The passes that he did throw on target, were dropped by steve smith plenty of times.

The Wide outs were horrible as well. Especially Smith, you almost had the sense that he didn't want to lace up those shoes and play.. Even with Matt Moore (sorry TRD), he wasn't great. They should have kept Moose one more year. That would have helped Jimmy.

The TE's aren't what they are this year. If Cam does have success, with this TE core, I wouldn't be surprised.

I'm seriously surprised he won ONE game with that situation. Yes he made mistakes, but he's a god damn rookie. What the fug do you expect out of someone that is new to the game? Jesus christ I swear, people giving up on a rookie after one horrible season are just ridiculous. Sorry man, but it is.

Great points, I just hope he shows a bit more leadership and doesnt wilt at the first sign of pressure, I remember years ago watch Terry Bradshaw suck early on, but he always hung in and played tough, dont see Jimmy boy as being tough, we'll see,

Statistically, Smitty's production was in line w/ what he has done over the course of his career when Clausen wasn't on the field.

Gettis' production was above average for a rookie when Clausen wasn't on the field.

Running game was on sporadic b/c Jimmy was the league's worst passer......the run game did a great job late considering how teams were playing them.

OL while banged up was still decent. They have always been a run blocking OL. QB was just sad. If you can't acknowledge how sad Clausen's QB play was on it's own regardless of what was going on around him.....I would question your perception of facts.

Clausen hasn't really looked that great in camp. Some nice catches by receivers have made him appear better though. Cam is just a better qb. He hits WR's in stride instead of throwing up a jump ball like clausen. Personally, I think Derek Anderson will start, and then turn the reigns over to Cam after the bye week.

Clausen should start saturday. He will lose the job in the preseason.

Fox did not develop Clausen last year. Read Sorenson's interview in today's Observer. What JR says about Armanti, insert the name Clausen.

We essentially have 2 rookie QBs this year, just like last year.

Why would Fox, who had been told that 2010 was his last year, care about the future of the Panthers?

Ease up on Edwards and Clausen. They will be OK. Clausen is 2 years from being effective, so hopefully the bashers and booers will understand that and get off his case.

Clausen needs some quality time in this system with Shula. He will gradually get better.

Every postive I have heard about Clausen usually comes w/ a "he ain't throwing downfield though" type remark.

Tweets get quoted here on a nightly bases and I've yet to see one say that Cam is overall better than Jimmy yet I can find you multiple sources, such as the one I quoted for you yesterday, that say the opposite.

Not to mention, if it is writters doing these tweets, I'm sure they are actually writing about it somewhere so finding an article that says "overall Cam is by far the better QB at this time"
