The Biggest Losers: Carolina

meh...if we suck again last year then we get to pick early, and this time we should have the all important second round pick.

eventually things will turn around. it's not like this is the NBA or MLB where the rich get richer and poor get poorer. there is a good amount of parity.

LOL, interesting theory except for the fact that most everybody had DeAngelo and CJ listed as two of the top available FA's and the best available FA's at their position.

Also, this guy assumes we "overpaid" without having seen the way the contracts are structured or knowing the other offers these guys may have had on the table.

I have no issues with this article. It was spot on. Last year everyone wanted to get rid of D-Lo because he was getting old, but now delight in his five-year contract. I always laugh when a few of you get so butthurt when anything bad is said about our team. It's comical. CJ was overpaid, TD is a gamble; and as much as I'm glad Kasay is gone, Mare got a LOT of money for a kicker. I like the Anderson signing, so here's hoping he can keep up last year's pace, and D-Lo is my favorite player but I can easily admit he is getting too much. I get it, we HAVE to spend money now but I'd rather see some of the money replace trash, instead of giving it to guys who want to be here and keeping the trash around.

Football is the sport where, the more you(as a fan) "think" you know, the more ignorant you actually are.

Charles Johnson plays a premier position and is comparable to Justin Tuck or Mario Williams so his money is justified. Don't care about the kicker since he saves us a roster spot that Kasay has been taking up for too long. The Anderson deal is understandable.

And I guess since we sucked last year we "have to overpay" to keep good players but Williams is the one free agent we had that we really didn't to have pay at all and could afford to lose, seeing as how our third string guy rushed for 100+ yards last year against decent teams, yet we paid him entirely too much but its okay since hes the fan favorite and personal feelings rule all here. But whatev.

I love these dipshits who say incredibly intelligent poo like "The Panthers are so bad why would they try to keep their own good players". 101 on how to stay crappy is just let your good players walk??

WTF?!?!?!

Goddamn I hope we make the playoffs next year just so some of these assholes have to eat crow.

The only signing I question is Thomas Davis. He needs to remain healthy given his history and replacing him I don't is that big of a deal.

Deangelo was a good signing because I think the coaching staff believes that Cam will benefit from him being here. Deangelo obviously can get injured but he has had some very productive seasons with us. Hurney's thinking on this is having D Will protects you. If we got rid of D Will, J Stew would be the starter. Lets pretend for a second he got injured, we would have Goodson and Sutton to replace him and that would not turn out well. I do not trust either one of those guys to take the reigns of that position. Some people on this board might think they are capable of doing that but I seriously disagree with them to keep it nice.

We couldn't let Charles Johnson leave even if we overpaid for him. Losing CJ would seriously set us back because we do not have anyone to replace him and that is a very important position on a football team.

James Anderson I think probably is the least controversial signing we made.

Mare and Hartstock from the Jets are upgrades.

Even if we did, no one would ever admit saying it.

You dont think its a lil early to say all that?

I think he has potential to be just as good as Justin Tuck or Mario Williams.
