Colt McCoy had a pretty good rookie season in Cleveland, including a big win over the Patriots. It has been well documented that Delhomme was a solid mentor to McCoy and the results showed. Of course Jake will never regain his form from his younger days, but to have him mentor Cam Newton and Clausen, especially on the same TEAM he played for, would be extremely valuable.

This time around, he won't have the massive contract, and knows he will never be the starter. I think it's a great move.

Well I have some interesting fuel to add to the Jake Delhomme fire...

First off, I am no njpanther12...i don't have an inside source to the panthers.

But, I do have a source inside another big sports organization in Charlotte. My source is friends with the family that is living in Jake Delhomme's old house..they are renting it from Jake. My source told me and another co-worker that last night Jake called and told them they needed to move out.

This might just be Jake wanting to move back to Charlotte because he was cut from the Browns and wants to be back in Charlotte, the renters trashed the place, or something else. But, I think the kind of people who rent from Jake Delhomme are not the same kind of renters you see trashing joints.

Listen, I love Jake (no homo) but I wouldn't ever want to see him take the field in a Panthers uniform again... he's used up.

I also think it's too soon to bring him back, there are still plenty of guys on the team that played with Jake and are very close to him... could create a rift if Cam is struggling (and he will just like any rookie QB).

imo, the only way i endorse jake signing back with the panthers is if he is a mentor only role. I dont want him thinking he's playing or touching the field. I would be all for him coming in and teaching cam/clausen how to lead and prepare..but anything more than that i don't want.

I have a unquestionable Bro-mance for delhomme (no Homo) but its time to move on. This isn't the john fox panthers anymore this is the Ron rivera hard hittin no BS panthers now. Jake delhomme was a fox guy and the chances of him coming back are quite slim. Its the cammy cam camrom juice show now people and lets just leave it at that.
