Some really promising young players are going to be cut, especially if we bring in another wide receiver. I'm not saying we shouldn't mind you, just that running backs and wide receivers are really going to be fighting for roster spots.

How many receivers do we carry?

Smith - FA - LaFell - Gettis - Edwards?

Perhaps Pilares is put on the practice squad. That leaves guys like Trent Guy, Charly Martin and Darvin Adams out of luck.

Yea, but Guy, Martin and Adams are out of luck because they're just not that good. This is probably gonna be a make or break year for Armanti and Smitty, Gettis, Lafell, Pilares are just about guaranteed spots. That leaves room for MAYBE a FA (but WR is way down our list of needs with Smitty returning) or one of those three. Or they could just roll with 5.

I think you're right.

LaFell and Gettis showed a ton of promise last year with poor quarterback play and worse playcalling. Let's see what these young guys can do with a new offense and quarterback (assuming Cam starts at some point this year -- and I think he will).
