Dan Connor's Trade Value

Anyone have a guess as to what we can get? I love having high quality back ups as much as anyone, but now that Anderson and TD have been locked up, and Beason likely to follow at some point, wouldn't it be prudent for the Panthers to capitalize on the good season he had last year playing in the middle. I don't see him having a higher value than now, and the only reason I could see keeping him is if Rivera plans to move us to a 3-4 in the future, or if they aren't really sold on the health of TD(but if they werent, why give him a 5 yr deal?). I dunno, just throwing it out there.

Played 7 games, had 47 tackles, over a whole season thats 107 sacks, and that is including a game where i think he missed a majority of time due to injury(only recorded one tackle). All the ones that would break 100 tackles in a year have already been pretty much picked up(and tbh i think he could be a guy in the right scheme that records 120-130 tackles).

if someone is looking for a 2 down MLB that is awesome vs the run WE HAVE YOUR MAN

buffalo could use someone maybe now that pos is gone

arizona?

i dunno. he could probably play in a 3-4, right? not sure what we could get for him.

He might have to get a little better in pass coverage but I don't see a real reason he couldn't play 3-4. I think he played 4-3 at penn state, but I don't think the assignments are too radically different for ILB's in a 3-4 or the MLB in a 4-3.

Um, at 6'2 I don't think he's the 3-4 type of guy. He's a solid 4-3 guy.

I'd prefer player for player straight up. But if he generates a 4th round or 3rd round pick, I'd say that would be Ideal. Would it be something teams would give up for him? I doubt it.

Dan Connor and a 4th for Darnell Dockett(30 y/o)?

Or

Dan Connor for Adrian Wilson(31 y/o)

I could see that getting done, Gerald Hayes is listed as their starting MLB, 30 years old and not really a standout player.

I guess it's possible that he could be traded, since I doubt that he is happy to be relegated back to the bench. . .so in terms of trade value, I would probably say a 3rd-4th. The fact that he is young would probably be worth something.

Uh, I don't think so. Especially since Dockett is like what? 30? I say Dan Connor for Dockett straight up. They get a young LB, we get a DT that probably has 2-3 years left of football. Which we would plug in right away.

One thing I don't want the Panthers to do ever again, Unless the trade is that good. Is to give away Draft picks. Connor himself is worth Dockett and probably a pick from the Cards. If both teams have needs in each position, then straight up would be the way to go.

Yea guys lets just get rid of a quality back up. that's smart.

His deal is up next off-season. Dude is gonna sign with someone who wants to give him starter money. Don't see why we wouldn't at least shop him around a bit.

This is just as practical as trading J. Stew

Keep him here, he is solid, and perhaps Rivera changes our defense to 3-4 next offseason, assuming he wants to bring the SD defense scheme in full effect over here. Anderson, Beason, Conner, and Davis on the field at the same time would be official.
