Bears are shopping Greg Olsen

yeah I mean what a waste of money trading for a TE making $900k that is miles ahead of any TE on our roster

it's okay though we'll be fine throwing in *insert random backup* after Jeremy Shockey is inevitably added to IR in week 3

It would be stupid im sorry, CB is a more pressing need for this team then another TE.

how does trading for Greg Olsen affect our ability to get a cornerback? he is making $900k this year.. if anything it will help us because we could unload a contract on the Bears to get him.

Dude, do you know what the Bears want? TE isn't a pressing need. Barnidge is still under concract and is a bit like Olson. He can be developed, Chudz has developed TE's before...

I'd be cool if we sent a 3rd or later to them for Olsen. Maybe even a 2nd for Olsen and a 4th or something like that. Don't want Smitty to be traded though...

We could take that new guy to camp and if he works out, carry 4 TEs for a year, if he doesn't work out cut him. Shockey, Olsen, Barnidge would make a pretty damn good TE group.

Besides, the new guy can't have signed the contract offer yet anyway, it's not official yet...can't be signed til Friday, right?

Yeah, but you can't do that... don't want a reputation as a team who enters verbal agreements with FA's and then backs out.
