Now that Vonnie Holliday is available, wouldn't it make sense for the Carolina Panthers to bring in the defensive end?

That's something that should have happened over a decade ago. It seemed like a sure thing in 1998 that Holliday, a defensive end who went to college at North Carolina and grew up in South Carolina, would be Tampa Bay's first-round draft pick....

He'll be a veteran stop-gap at this point. He's not really a pass rusher, more of a run-stopping DE like Brayton.

there really wouldn't be a reason against it if he was willing to do it on the cheap, especially considering the lack of defensive end depth. he's certainly just as good as hilee taylor.

i can't imagine holliday is going to command a lot on the open market, and it's possible he could give a hometown discount.
