Anyone hoping we sign someone who will help us improve from last year?

With this cap, the Panthers needed to resign the key players (one contract was somewhat.. demonic) but they're getting it done at home.

But they've got to get a new CB at the very least, or this free agency period will blow.

Edit -- and on a contention stand-point. The quicker Cam develops, the quicker this team contends.

It's all on Cam if this team is to ever becomes a consistent powerhouse.

Comparing to 2008 you have to consider the strength of our conference from then to now.

12-4 talent then might not be the same as 12-4 talent now.

True. I think 10-6 is gonna win our division this year. However saying that adding a lets say a top tier DT or CB or both would drastically improve our record would be reaching also.

I think signing the core players, implementing new system/coaches/players. See how well we compete and addressing more needs next year is the way to go. I mean we can't realistically think that after a 2-14 year we are going to contend by signing a few big name FA's ? Short of the core/proven players I really don't think we should spend just to spend. I'm looking for an overall team improvement more development of our younger players and ability to compete offensively.

He is not that horrible :) . Plus there are ways to hide CB's especially in a attacking type defense. What do you think we need to address? Other than Cam Newton of course :)

I piss myself at the thought of Munnerlyn starting against Greenbay.

We don't have to do it all in 1 year. Keep the good core, build on it, and add every year. It's a start. we don't need to do it all, and cover every need in one year.

But I thought the point of dumping all those people and clearing all that room was to set us up to improve in one year by being able to sign our own guys AND add big name talent around them.

If not, what was the point?

Hakeem Nicks is an average receiver and he beat Munnerlyn with an ugly stick repeatedly.

You hide CBs that aren't good on Special Teams and that's it.

He was a cute story, but he can't play at this level.
