I like the move because who would know him better then Rivera. Going up against the chiefs two times a year. Rivera must really see something in Ron Edwards. So I approve this deal. At 6'3 315 and just turned 32 this month you couldnt have got a better Deal.

I don't think Mebane and Joseph and Coefield are really on the radar like most assume.

FA to Jerry meant former Panthers ( in terms of being aggressive). He most likely will take her prefered method as hitting FA's in the tier below those guys.

Well Coefield signed with the Skins - he would have been the bets option, IMO....

I like the pick up, but I will be surprised if this is the only DT we bring.

^^this.

he's a solid DT. nice upgrade from what we've had. very reliable as well. didn't miss a game as a chief. as much as a problem as it has been to keep DTs healthy around here, this is a good thing.

shouldn't be the only DT we bring in. with a healthy rotation, this group of DTs could prove to be very valuable.

Edwards was expected to be a priority for Chiefs GM Scott Pioli, but the Panthers came in and swiped him away. It's just as well. Edwards is a decent run defender, but the Chiefs have the cap space to make a serious run at Aubrayo Franklin -- a potential impact signing. The Panthers will hope Edwards turns out better than Tank Tyler, the last defensive tackle to go from Kansas City to Charlotte.
