Where were you giving my props when the Panthers signed Johnson today. You know no one is outbidding the Skins

I'm going to give you props on the most widely reported, most expected, and most anticipated sure-fire signing of the offseason?

No.

Your magic eight ball was not needed for that one.

And if I did give you credit, you're now 50/50. Congratulations on being the rest of us.

I enjoyed your posts throughout the offseason and engaged in discussions about them... I didn't bash you.

But, it definitely is looking like we didn't even attempt to sign him or even put a feeler out there, as he didn't have much to consider apparently as in number of competitive offers. If he was our #1 priority outside of the organization, it sure looks weird that we didn't even get a sniff.

And the Cliff Lee/baseball comparison is horrible. Cliff Lee can singlehandedly win a game depending on his performance some nights and he was gonna get paid like it... There aren't many at his position, in his sport that can dominate the way he does. - Cofield can't win games by himself, no matter how good he performs, and his pay should reflect that. I'm willing to bet there wasn't that many teams in this race, and the salary isn't as ridiculous as you think.

I said he was their number 1 target. Never once did I say he was guaranteed to come here. I also said that the Panthers priorities today were Newton and to get D-Will and Johnson signed.

The Cliff Lee Comparison was he was the Yankees number 1 target and did not get him.

Beat writer Kevin Acee advises to "keep an eye on" free agent QB Matt Moore if Billy Volek decides to sign elsewhere.

Acee expects the Chargers to offer Volek a deal similar to the three-year, $9 million contract he signed back in 2007. That ought to do the trick, though Moore is a fine fallback plan as a No. 2 QB. The Gaston Gazette confirmed Tuesday that Moore will not be back with the Panthers.

With Cofield off the market, would the majority prefer to go to options B or C at the DT position, or role with who we have on the roster now and make a big play for an elite CB FA like Joseph?

Assuming we lock up our core first and foremost.

Hard to say untill training camp till the coaches see what we have in our rookies

Sounds about right

What in the hell are you so mad about? I'm trying to help these guys find the answers to the questions. You can't possibly know all the answers to everything going on in the league or can you?

If you really wanna be a bitch who in the fug doesn't know D-will has a big contract on the table. It's only right or is that just not plausible and only you will know? How about this I'm saying the contract is between 5-7mil a year. I thought you had a guy who knew some of the inside business with the Panthers not the whole damn league. Cofield is the best DT available along with Mebane but no team will pay more than 8 mil for either one of them. See how easy it is to speculate plausible poo.

I must be a "source"*jots down lotto numbers*

hash you guys can say whatever you want but never once did i say the panthers were going to sign cofield. he was their number 1 target. the skins offered more than they were willing. i nor the panthers can help what other teams offer.

Problem is, if it's some of the numbers being reported, they could've paid it, and if he was our #1 priority then you'd think we would have.

Secondly, I haven't seen it reported anywhere that we were even involved, so where are you getting that we even offered anything? #1 targets get pursued and get offered what they want regardless of other needs.
