Except he isn't elite. He had one above average year when we were down 30-6 by the 2nd quarter most games

This post is fail on so many levels. You do realize that Johnson being able to rack up 11.5 sacks being the only pass rushing threat is pretty good in it's own right. Add to that being down "30-6 by the second quarter" as you said (you know when most teams are running the ball trying to end the game) and it makes it even more impressive....

That only shows how well he played. Do team throw when they are up 30 -6? Hell no. He go to the quarterback with limited oppurtunities because teams were always running the ball.

"League source" usually means somebody's agent.

Gantt seems to attribute the story to Drew Rosenhaus (Johnson's agent) hinting that Rosenhaus is very open with PFT.

Rosenhaus and Marty Hurney have always been able to deal with each other fairly easily.

Lots of reason to buy into this.

And as the only pass-rush threat on the team, which make his numbers that much more impressive. Not saying it isn't a gamble, but at least it's a good gamble.

Stop worrying guys, we had to pay him and it's not that bad.

@daringantt

Darin Gantt Without seeing contract, probably between 6-7m. RT @danielbeaton: How much will Johnson's new deal count against the cap this year?
