DeAngelo Free Agency Thread

Just now on SC, was asked where he thought DLo will end up, he says there will be a full court press on DLo as soon as the negotiation period starts by Denver and Miami. Made no mention of us.

Schefter has no visibility on this subject. Just like all the "draftniks" who are consistently wrong year after year, he's just re-spouting garbage and junk thinking.

If you were a team who wanted to sign a big time contract, why would you show your hand to this guy? So he can mention your team on SC? You wouldn't tell him anything of any value.

DWill will listen for offers and as long as he's comfortable with Marty and Jerry he'll bring the biggest one back for us to beat. If Jerry and Marty are to be believed, they will beat it and he will stay a Panther.

Schefter just like to talk about big market teams. They don't research. PFT actually got it right this time. They must've been watching D-Will's live stream because those are the exact words I heard come out of his mouth. D-Will was lagging on the computer, but I heard him say don't listen to the talks about him and Denver he said "I'm not going to Denver". He said he wants to stay and retire a Panther. He also told Panther fans that he'll hold a contest for the pen he uses to sign his contract. Who in the hell would want it if he were signing somewhere else? He sounded pretty confident he'll be a Panthers uniform this season.

The South Florida Sun-Sentinel expects the Dolphins to be all over DeAngelo Williams if the free agent fails to come to agreement with the Panthers Tuesday.

"If DeAngelo Williams leaves Carolina without a deal today it's on like Donkey Kong," says beat writer Omar Kelly, who also suspects the Broncos will be in play. The Dolphins are expected to be in on Ahmad Bradshaw as well.

Schefter is a tool

Your sig is an instant boner.

Schefter is an idiot. NFLN is currently reporting on FA RBs... Lombardi us saying Addai is the best potential FA. Bullshit to that! He did report for sure that he believes Carolina will make DLo an offer he can't refuse and will bring him back. For the record, Addai sucks balls.

Who's to say he couldn't? Being placed on IR does not always mean your not able to go or its a major injury. One could point out Jstew has had just as many injury problems and is younger. No they have not prevented him from playing but he has twice the surgeries that Dwill has. We could also say Goodson is a major concern because he has had two concussions in back to back years.

Age.

Stewart is young can play with more and recover better. That is a factor in why Stewart misses practice and DeAngelo games.

as far as concussions go....having your brain rattled will keep anyone out even if they are 100%. Unless your name is Matt Moore.

AManagement took the high-road by saying they believed in the young talent, no one believed we'd finish 2-14, but based on our unproven QB situation we were not a guaranteed playoff contender. Though when it was apparent after the win vs the 49ers (game where D-Lo was hurt) it was obvious we were destined for a "high" pick, so the smart thing to do with any injured player was to avoid the risk of a "more serious/aggrevated injury". It's a FO decision to put a player on IR, a player who "is" on the field can't be mad at the player on IR, and players are intelligent enough to realize what's going on between the lines, "it's a business".

There were 10 games left.....you don't think Kalil, Gross, Beason, Stewart, Smitty played through injuries at points in the season after it was clear we were gonna do nothing? Techincally, the smart thing to do would be to bench all your proven/valuable talent for pointless games......but they didn't.

We weren't even at the half way mark. Odds favor Williams going to IR b/c his injury was too great for him to comeback and be produtive for the majority of those games.....nothing more.

it seems you are selective about when you want to apply the "it's business" vantage point. Wanting to keep DeAngelo at all costs ain't good business.
