DeAngelo Free Agency Thread

fumbling and picking up blocks is 2 of the most important negatives a running back can have.

I absolutely hate when people list off the two most important traits of a position as the only areas of weakness.

That WR is amazing, he only needs to work on his hands and his route running.

That LT is the best player ever, he just needs to work on his foot speed and pass blocking.

Etc

Blocking is a concern, but imo it is offset by his ability as a receiver. He is our best pass catching rb.

True, but blocking goes hand it hand being a receving threat out of the backfield......a lot of times your role on plays is dictated. You either stay in to block or roll out into the flat. He has to be able to block.

what are Goodson's weaknesses then? Those are his two areas of concern aren't they?

Lots of good RBs have struggled in those areas and improved. You can teach those....you can't teach speed and talent.

Free agent DeAngelo Williams is expected to choose between the Panthers, Broncos, and Giants on Wednesday.

According to NFL Network's Michael Lombardi, the Panthers have a "slight lead." Last we heard, the Broncos were making defensive line (Cullen Jenkins? Aubrayo Franklin?) a priority over running back. The Giants reportedly have Williams as a Plan B behind Ahmad Bradshaw. We should have an answer on free agency's most important fantasy factor by this evening.

TRD is an excellent contributor, he only needs to work on quality of his posts and the effectiveness of his trolling

Bah, DWill is staying here. He is much better than Bradshaw and he would be looked at to do most of the work. DWill has said he likes the tandem with JStew because they compliment eachother so well. I don't see bradshaw as a good compliment to DWill.

And, eff the broncos. DWill has played under fox, I think he wants something new, a new system, a new coaching staff, not the same old Fox football. And the Panthers are on the up and up.

Although, if DWill really wanted a ring, like NOW, I would say head to the Giants. But he still has 2-4 years left, and the Panthers are looking like a contender in that time frame.

Yes, but you can't list him in the same breath as someone who has proven they are legit and a baller when his biggest weaknesses could keep him off the field.

1st and 2nd down: Can't put him in because he fumbles too damn much

3rd down: Can't put him in because he can't block for the QB

Don't worry about losing a stud when you have a guy who makes you cringe every time he's on the field.

Throw it deep to that receiver missing both of his arms...fug Steve Smith we got "Legs" to play receiver
