NFL 'Released' Thread

The Texans have granted DL Amobi Okoye permission to seek a trade.

The Texans' front office has presumably let Okoye know that he will be waived if he doesn't find a trade partner. The 2007 No. 10 overall pick doesn't fit Wade Phillips' 3-4 scheme and has just 11 sacks in 62 career games.

Take to the mods, all I have is in the OP and I'm getting ready to go on mini-vacation until Friday afternoon here in about an hour. I won't have cpu access for a while, just my phone, so I'll be on and off twitter tonight.

Yeah, have fun DP... Idk maybe it'll all be fine in this one, just thought it could get pretty ugly now that the official waivers start and teams are gonna be cutting cap. Might not be too bad though.

Titans released QB Vince Young.

Source: Titans on Twitter Jul 28, 4:18 PM

We've known this was coming since January. Despite a 30-17 record as the Titans' starter, off-field woes and questionable locker room chemistry caused the team to simply move on from Young. The Dolphins reportedly view him as their No. 2 choice behind Kyle Orton, and the Eagles may see him as a high-upside backup to Michael Vick.

Vikings released S Madieu Williams.

So much for the idea that the short offseason would protect veterans with bloated salaries. Coach Leslie Frazier wanted to keep Williams around, but his play hasn't matched his scheduled $5.5 million salary. The Vikings will clear $3.5 million in cap space with the move.

Browns released LB Eric Alexander and TE Tyson DeVree.

Alexander followed Eric Mangini to Cleveland after being a core special teamer in New England. DeVree hasn't appeared in an NFL game since 2008.
