why do people think that Jerry doesn't spend money?

Well, let's hear it. All you people out there constantly calling him cheap are too scurred to get into a discussion with actual facts in it?

Funny how telling that is.

Jerry stole my money last year.

Nobody gave me a refund on my season tix to watch a roster who wasn't NFL caliber, but they took my money based on the promise that I would see an NFL quality team.

Who's to blame for that? Jerry Richardson. - full stop.

Until he breaks out the wallet and gives Marty the permission to make the deals that we need to become the NFC South champions again, I'll keep calling him cheap (I'd just as well call him a thief).

If you were expecting one, you'd make a great WFNZ caller.

There is no longer a reason to call him or any other owners cheap anymore!!!! They are all spending the same amount of $$$ on salaries.

All of this owner talk is getting crazy when they no longer decide how much they are going to or not to spend.... Jerry, Snyder, Jones, Davis.... All the same player's payroll for now.

Like others said earlier all the pressure is no on Hurney making sure we don't over spend on players and get good value, since everyone is now on the exact same playing field salary cap/floor wise.

I understand, but its not justifiable to label one as cheap for one bad year. Youre not paying for wins when you buy PSL's.

Edit: Im not trying to make you angry cause I know this subject sucks for you to talk about. Just hear me out, you can call him an asshole, but you cant call him cheap.

Lets look at our spending rankings under the Fox era:

2010 we were 22nd

2009 we were 11th

2008 we were 17th

2007 we were 27th

2006 we were 10th

2005 we were 8th

2004 we were 10th

2003 we were 23rd

2002 we were 28th

If you average these rankings they put us at 17th overall. Based on 32 teams that puts us squarely in the middle which is exactly where I said we were. Perhaps you are confusing cap numbers with actually salary paid.

http://content.usatoday.com/sportsdata/football/nfl/salaries/team/2002

For truth in factual evidince that was just the NFL Salaries that does not include stuff like singing bonuses, and seasonal incentives such as bonuses awarded because of stats and probowls, all of that stuff is included into the final cap number of the team, in fact I believe that the Panthers in 2007 and 2008 had to restructure some contracts to get under the cap because so many players were hitting the incentives.

Just look at the teams on that list you posted yourself the Patriots over the same time span are lower then the Panthers in salaries several years.

sorry but lets use full facts not half truths

would you spend money to bring in top free agents with a lameduck head coach?

fox was great for defense but not offense. in order for us to be a year in year out contender we needed a higher powered offense. richardson and hurney arent going to spend money just to spend it.

dynasties arent built in a season, it takes time and that requires patience something this city has very little of, (see last year's attendance)

our super bowl will come. i say sooner than later.

Richardson backed himself in a corner by failing to sign any of the core before now.

Forgot to add, that you can call it that but it could also be seen as prudent business... It could even be seen as an act of faith for his players to believe in him as an owner and trust that he will pay them what they deserve when this all gets sorted out.
