Do you have links of people giving him crap for that? And a link in which Clausen said he had to get it out quick?

If you can prove that they relied more on short throws then the average team, over the course of a season I'd love to see it.

Go to Panthers.com and watch every video from last year.....there is one of him being interviewed on the practice field during the season when people were asked about his throwing mechanics and the fact he struggled getting to ball over the lineman.....he clearly states Weis didn't see the need in addressing his throwing motion.....said that he and Weis put an emphasis on him getting it out quick and not sitting w/ the ball.

again, if you watched ND as much as you claim.....then you would have known that stat I gave you from the Hawaii game was normal for Clausen. Unfortunately there isn't a college site that offers a link to in game stats for me to post........go see if you can find the Boston College game or a host of others of him. He played in Carolina just like he did at Notre Dame just a lot of what he found success doing in college doesn't work in the pros......the bad habits were all there.

You don't have to care. I was arguing the point with another poster before you started responding. He was pretty good in college, sadly none of that has translated to the NFL.

lots of QBs are "pretty good" in college and have no business being a starter in the NFL. There was a reason for his college success.......Weiss' scheme. Short throws and YAC was HUGE for Clausen. Again, that doesn't mean he didn't go downfield in college but the short stuff was huge for him.

Watch every video? You made the claim about the source, you back it up.

Why do you think getting it out quick equates to throwing short? Most offenses, if not all, want there Qb to get the ball out quick. Who wants there Qb to sit with it?

In Carolina all he did was throw short passes. Few times did he air it out deep with vertical throws. At Notre dame he would frequently rely on it and thats where the majority of his yards came from, big play throws. In Carolina the majority came from shallow passes.

I said Clausen played in the NFL just like college.....I broke down one of his signature games that confirmed it to give you an example (Hawaii).

You want more evidence....you will have to look for it. You have yet to give an example to support YOUR claim that the short game wasn't emphasised. I gave Hawaii.....you gave no concrete example.

So if you want me to do more work....give me an single example that support your stance.

Hawaii - 1 for me

0 for you so far

I will say it again, if you watched a lot of ND you wouldn't even be arguing that his bs screens/dinks were not a staple of his game and drove people nuts. Yeah, he would chuck in the direction of the sideline occassionally.......but his game was pretty identical in the pros. Prefers to dump down, throws to the sideline, and scramble left when the play requires him to be in the pocket.

Did you not see my post from the Clashmore mike site? They specifically stated that it wasn't a west coast or screen heavy offense by any stretch, but a dynamic vertical passing game.

They have a whole website from multiple guys, who intensely and objectively watch every game and post articles on the team. There are no grades to skew it . Just reporting and analyzing what they saw

And every year do mid and end season report on offense and defense. Not only that but they divide the offense up. And not once to they mention the heavy emphasis on short throws, but vertical.

Unless you think they don't watch it either?
