Well let me see, we added a soccer player that never played football in his life to be a kickoff/specialist, so you never know.

Actually Rhys played college football at Minnesota (say what you want about their program, it is technically football) and was drafted by the Ravens.

Like, let's start off with what you know about football and go from there.

Oh really, and how many field goal's did he make?

I took the Liberty of going ahead and finding it for you, he made 26 with an accuracy of 72%. I would give almost any guy a better shot at replacing Kasay than Lloyd.

Does this really look like a contest?

The other guy seems to think someone who kicked one fg in college could be a future kasay replacement. It is my job as a responsible huddle poster to nip that in the bud and chastise the poster for his idiocy.

Any good poster would do the same.

But seriously, can we stop bashing Rhys? I mean the guy has an awesome name for sure. Like, really only cool guys are named Rhys, like the coolest of guys.

      Respectfully, I completely disagree. Last year we were:  32nd in Sacks. 32nd in Turnovers.  32nd in Rushing TDs allowed  29th in Scoring.  We were absolutely atrocious on defense last year and that was with a full stable of weapons in Derek Brown, Frankie Luvu and Brian Burns that played all 17 games.  Using yards per game as a metric to guage our success lacks the context that because our offense was so inept teams were not driving the length of the field, they were starting at their 40-50 yard line.  This year, our Defense ranks:  31st in Sacks. Tied for 19th in Turnovers  31st in Rushing TDs allowed 32nd in Scoring  His defense fails to get pressure, fails to turn the ball over and fails to stop the run. Three things you absolutely have to do to be successful in the NFL.  Denver meanwhile has not missed a beat without him.  If another team wants to hire him as a HC and the Panthers get two 3rds for it I'll wish him the best and pack his bags myself.
