It isnt' the DUI that bothers me. This is his third run in in the past 18 months for doing something stupid while drunk late at night. This to me doesn't indicate that he realizes he is a pro athlete and represents himself but also the league and his team. 99% of the time when a pro athlete gets in trouble it involves drinking at a bar or strip club late at night. These guys can pick up women at breakfast if they want to; no need to stay out until 4. Just stupid.

No I don't do it because it isn't worth my career or going to jail. I know someone years ago that was no different than anyone here that was driving home drunk one night and fell asleep. Ending up hitting another car and killing someone. He is doing 25 years for murder. Think about that next time before you start the car. This wasn't some thug; he was a normal guy like I am sure most here. There is ZERO tolerance for this stuff now.

The guy is overrated, he has had one season where he caught more than 80 passes, and after that its a bunch of 40-50 catch seasons. He had one real good year with the browns and that was before anyone really knew who he was. Add the fact he is a drunk and has poor work ethic I'm gonna say pass also.

Well Hines Ward got caught for DWI, and he performs and makes football a priority.

But I will have to agree that I would rather have one of the other available FA's. Edwards though does put up solid numbers, and I wouldn't really mind if he came here.

Anyone above the age of 16 knows the difference between right or wrong. Don't try to dismiss this with age. I'm sure hogan knew what the fug he was doing..

Hogan is getting his fresh start now. Edwards' has come and gone. My biggest reason for not wanting him is the football reason though, not the off field trouble.

Well played. I've known a lot of 16 year olds that are mature for that age. Depends on the person. That was just a guideline, don't take it literally..

They both had DWI's and yet Edwards is someone you don't want. Double standards, I'd say.

Also, the current Regime doesn't care about those issues, if you can play you're going to get looked at and possibly hired. Case in point, Cam, Hogan... I wouldn't be surprised if they look at Edwards and acquire his services.
