What Cam's contract could look like

Rookies can not negotiate another deal, nor the team until the 3rd year of contract.

What I was saying is the contracts aren't slotted, meaning there isn't a set contract for the 1st pick or which ever pick, meaning that the rookies agent still negotiates a contract at the beginning. All the rookie Cap is is basically an improved version of the system that was already in place. There is a rookie pool still, the only difference is it's a hard cap.

That price is awesomely fair. Bradford's contract was insane, and realistically he was in the same position as Cam; not a single down played in the league. Regardless of how he looked as a prospect.

Cam's proposed contract looks a lot more reasonable. After all, he was a #1 pick.

Contract is fine if Cam is a Jason Campbell type player.

Contract is not fine if Cam ends up being the star that many feel he will/can become.

It's really that simple. Nothing to be happy about, unless you feel two things will happen:

1) He becomes a superstar type player at the QB position

2) JR and company will sign him to an 8-10 year mega deal when the time comes.
