So is it a strike now instead of a lockout?

the players seem shocked that the owners were suppose to vote and actually did it...

maybe had the players done this Wed. like they were suppose to they could have put the pressure on the owners, but they choose to do nothing... now it seems that they are shocked that the owners didnt follow their example

Obviously not very educated at all... Have you read their tweets?

They are literally incomprehensible with horrid subject verb agreement...

The funniest thing to repeatedly see if the anchors on ESPN correct them in the fly... They always end up stuttering and trying to make the moronic players sound good...

Alas, it really doesn't matter, because when u put them in the field it really doesn't matter. That's why we love the NFL... The guys can play the game...

Well, that and they're more rich than all/most of us will EVER be...

tl;dr thanks for putting what I said into 100 words.

From what I understand the owners approved a revenue sharing agreement among themselves to add to the CBA. As far as I know this has nothing whatsoever to do with the players bc this money includes the owners portion of the revenues. I think items like this are what Evans and others are referring to, which is idiotic.

MJD was on NFL radio las night and also sounded very stupid. He said that the owners put together this deal and then approved and that the players haven't even seen it. I was screaming at the radio and finally the host made my point...he said didn't you guys have lawyers and reps at the negotiating table help put this thing together? Im paraphrasing but MJD basically said, "that's what we were told but how do we know for sure?". I couldn't believe my ears...this might be the most assanine comment I've ever heard....then right before they got off the radio they cornered him and asked what he thought about everything, if he was optimistic that a deal will get done and MJD sat there and said "yes, very optimistic" the hosts then cut him off and hung up...they said thanks that's all we needed to know.

The players have bitched and moaned about people being to soft on the rules but then they turn around and ask to not have two a day practices anymore. I don't get it. And now it's obvious the players are stalling...I'm not sure if it is bc they don't want training camp, preseason, or they thought it would make the owners look bad. Point of the story is that they are coming off looking ridiculous right now...as a group.

I think the deal was agreed upon by the owners contingent upon the NFLPA ratifying. Also parts of the deal are only valid if the players are part of a union.

It's not exactly a strike but I guess you could label it that if you like.

All the decertification ever has been is a "label" to try a legal maneuver, so to attack the owners and the league in court. After that failed in the appeals court, Dumbass Smith realized they have no choice but to negotiate, but had entangled themselves in a legal knot, and is trying every angle to win what he can.

Keep in mind, that fugface is a LAWYER. Lawyers play to WIN in court. Having lost a legal battle is a major thorn in his side, not just personally, but how others will consider him as a litigator in his career. He wants to save his own face and is willing to jeopardize the NFL as a whole to do it.

One thing I noticed in listening to the players is they all kept saying "crossing t's and dotting i's" before they approved a deal. Now if this deal is so vague that all the parts aren't there then why the hell would 31 billionaires who are a lot more business savvy than the vast majority of players have no problem signing off on this thing. The players are talking out of their asses and the worst part is that de smith is the puppet master.

Exactly what I see going on.

Total knee-jerk reaction by the players without having even seen the proposal... on one hand they're complaining about things the owners "sneaked in" to the deal and on the other hand they're saying they haven't seen the proposal...

According to Mort, now that they've actually read the proposal they like it, LOL

this.

it's not a strike yet. if the owners have allowed a certain amount of time (till tuesday (not the music group)) then it's not officially a strike. if they go beyond, who knows what type of a circus it will turn into.

i've been on the owners side all along and i think now we'll see just who was being the greediest. if the players refuse a deal that Dsmith pretty much has approved, then it will show the true colors of the players. i just want to see the rookie pay scale specifics of the proposed deal. to me, that is the most interesting part of the whole deal.
