It's actually been well-documented is past threads that these people appreciate the info... And since I had nothing to do because mist of my house is already packed up to move, I watched the coverage and updated everybody... Including people here stateside...

Good, lets get this over with... I noticed that none of the inflammatory comments last night came from Smith, sounds like he knew what the deal was going to be (had 90 min call with Goodell before the vote) but didn't communicate it to the rest of the NFLPA very well (or at all).

Hopefully, everyone sees how disorganized and emotional the players are--The are bamboozled on one hand, but have not yet read the document on the other. They are throwing new issues into the mix after the owners vote (escape clause after 7 years), and they are announcing they are going to take their sweet time to do this, and that they do not have to go by anyone's timetable, even though losing preseason games will nullify the terms of the original agreement. If they feel rushed, it is because they wanted to play hardball. I see their points, but you do not wait until the ink is on the paper before making them. They can be right as hell and still lose the battle. Timing is everything, and if they are going to let some money-grubbing attorneys feed them propaganda, then they are stupid. The lawyers who are advising them have constantly put themselves in position to get rich--like the team representing Brady. The players are in disarray.

DeSmith is at the funeral in Boston. The player reps are in Washington with the lawyers. Who knows what they are being fed. I think DeSmith is feeling the owners out, personally. He will return to an angry mob, and have to tell them that they are about to lose some money. By Sunday, we have a deal, IMO.
