Shouldnt you be back on some other wagon by now?

Its called a big picture.... future sucess.

So by stunting the growth of our young team and drafting a team built for the old coach who he knew he wasn't going to resign, he set us up for future success?

Got it.

If by set us up for future success you mean we were so bad that we got the first pick, got Cam, and he turns out to be a huge success leading this team in the future, yeah, Jerry did a great job doing that.

Otherwise, stfu

whelp we had a top 7ish defense returning, peppers more than able replacement, 2 thousand yard runners and a QB that proved he could run the offense but nah we won't make the playoffs.

Nope not in a leugue that you must pas to win.

Haha, this is such an evil ploy. See the excitement in this thread? Now if the players vote to reject, which is in their best interests financially, Jerry Richardson will have the fans on his side because we're all ready for him to supposedly go out and sign someone like, I don't know, Asomugha. They're all so diabolically evil. Macchiavelli would be so pleased.

So by cutting a bunch of dead weight to force Fox to play our younger guys is stunting the growth? right.... the only thing he should have done diferently was fire fox last year.

Lol if his plan was to get us in contention Fox would have been fired a year ago and this team would have been rebuilding then.

Instead we're a year behind where we should be.

Dude looked out for himself last year, don't let him fool you.

He looked after the ownership, which at the time, he felt he had to do. He has owned the team for 15 years and what you suggest is not his MO. Never has been. Maybe he overreacted, but we are in a good place right now. I don;t know if we would have been better of if this happened or that, but I like the future.

We are going to get a top DT and a very serviceable CB. We will re-sign CJ and TD and Anderson and maybe DW. Extend Beason and Kalil. We will have no core players to re-sign next season.

I felt we were screwed by JR last season, but he was up to his elbows in this and did what he thought was right. Again, he has never skimped or been cheap in the past. I give him the benefit of the doubt.

You act like keeping fox was something small?

The players drafted were for a Fox system, knowing that system wouldn't be around.

Our top two picks are for a system that we KNEW we wouldn't have a year later. Both players SHOULD be off the team next year but we wasted high picks on them so they will be here, taking up roster spots of guys that could do it.

Keeping Fox was not only a mistake, it's the only decision that mattered last offseason and he blew it because he wanted to save some cash.

I agree. I just don't understand people that defend JR saying it was in the best interest of the team when it clearly wasn't.

He was looking out for himself, plain and simple.

If Cam pans out, JR will be a hero and his plan was perfect.

If Cam fails, JR will still be a hero to some clowns around here.
