Darvin Adams

I was looking at the list of potential undrafted free agents and the one guy I kept going back to is Darvin Adams. I wonder if Carolina could possibly bring him in because of his connection with Newton and to have a target that Newton is fimiliar with.

Thoughts?

Yes. Why not he is a pretty good receiver and we can cut him if he sucks it up. I don't see how bringing him in hurts anything.

He needs to add more weight, and is extremely slow, Cam's faster than him and is two inches taller plus 60 more pounds than him.

i say no as well because i want us to bring in DeAndre Brown as a UDFA.

If this kid grows up, you are looking at a TO type player. He has the biggest upside. A leg injury and immaturity hurt him in the draft.

Worth a shot.

Unless Gettis is able to step up to a #1, I think adding youth at WR is just log-jamming the position. Brown, however, gives us the big WRs like they had in SD.

We are going to lose Steve Smith, howver. I feel about 75% sure of that.

I like Darvin Adams, but we really have enough young wideout's. If we want to give Cam help, then we need to give him another good option, plus adding another player that has the caliber to be a really good player; let's say Braylon Edwards, also sends the message to Steve Smith that this team is committed to winning now.

I say we sign Braylon, and keep 6 wideout's.

WR 1- Steve Smith, David Gettis

WR 2- Braylon Edwards, Brandon LaFell

Slot- Kealoha Pilares, Armanti Edwards

My Undrafted Free Agent Wish List (after Brown):

Mark Herzlich LB- I would groom him to play behind Beason, however, not on the outside. We are losing Connor (unless he becomes the starter at SLB), so we will need depth.

DeAndre McDaniel SS --We need a true SS and McDaniel will make an NFL roster. He seems to have overcome character issues (Mom has been arrested some 50 times).

Willie Smith, LOT- He is a former DT converted to LT. He has good athleticism, but is rough. Gross is 31 and we need depth there.

Noel Devine, RB- A small, quick alternative to what we already have at RB should DW leave. Sutton, Stewart, Goodson--nobody like Devine. ST consideration here.

Wes Saunders or Schuylar Oordt, TEs--Saunders is my preference, but either.

Martin Parker, DT- Has some upside as a 3 tech.

Deunta Williams SS-We need a true SS

DJ Young LOT--Second team all big 10 LT.

Adam Grant, David Mims--OT (I feel that we need tackle depth on both sides (Otah unhealthy, nobody behind 31-year old Gross), and I think drafting projects now could benefit the team later) Grant has good feet and hands, poor technique (LOT-fixable)-Mims is 6'8" 335 (RG, maybe RT).

Kai Forbath K--We need a K on the PS should Kasay realize he is old.

Jeffrey Maehl, WR--reminds me of Proehl.

    • yeah. winter backpacking trips were the most miserable and amazing experiences. same with the coldest and snowiest hunting  experiences. i love being in it. makes for incredible memories. the worse it was, the more i ended up loving it. made the greatest memories.  i just want to get out of it afterwards.
    • I forgot about Jackson...definitely elite.  The sad part of your list is that 2 of them were 'there for the taking for the Panthers'.  Rumor has it that Hurney loved Herbert and was vetoed on trying to trade up.  And rumor has it that Frank & McCown wanted Stroud.  I believe both rumors.
    • I went on a solo elk hunt in the Flat Tops. It was awesomely miserable. LOL It was a late season hunt, I think third season and it was forecasted to snap off cold with highs in the upper thirties and lows in the single digits. fug it, I'm going anyway. They were wrong. The highs were in the low 20s and the lows were in the negative teens. I shivered so hard the first night I thought my teeth were going to break. It was the only time I've ever been legit concerned that I might be in trouble. Crawled out of my sleeping bag and got a fire started and suffered through the night bundled up next to the fire. I slept the next two nights literally wearing every stitch of clothing I'd brought with Nalgenes full of near boiling water in the bottom of my sleeping bag. That was the only way to have non-frozen water in the morning anyway. There was about a foot of snow on the ground and the melt/freeze crust was almost enough to support your weight but you'd go crashing through just as you went or make your step. It was exhausting travel and every step sounded like a rifle shot. Hunting was basically impossible. I never saw an elk in those four days, only saw 5-6 deer. LOL It was brutal but I loved it. Absolutely beautiful country that is never been to before and haven't been back since. I needed that four day complete break from society fighting for my life against the elements. I'm weird like that.
