I have to wonder if the God of Death that Arya serves is the Great Other.

Not in my opinion... but you never know...

Jon's death could also be the chaos that allows the Others and the wights to break through the wall.

Do you think they'll make it through?

If Jon dies and comes back to life, does that free him from his oath?

I'd say so, but will his Stark honor allow him do free himself?

According to Victarion's red priest, the Drowned God is an extension of the Great Other, so why not the god of death?

I definitely think they could break through the wall. What's the point if they don't?

yay we defended the wall now we'll live happily ever after vs oh poo the wall just came down and now a bunch of evil motherfugers are killing everything south of the wall

i know which sounds moar liekly

I'm not totally convinced that R'hllor is the good guy in that existential plane... Could be that the Others are beings created by The Other to come down and cleanse the plague that is R'hllor's religion...

Basically, anything that isn't R'hllor is a part of The Other... meaning all other gods are false gods... R'hllor is basically a new god on the scene it seems like, and maybe the Children of the Forest/Bran/The Others/Wights are ultimately the good guys, and want to bring their cleansing winter upon everything touched by R'hllor's fire...

It is all about perspective I suppose...

I do have a few theories about Melisandre, though... I don't think she believes that Stannis was AA, but used him to get her to The Wall/Jon Snow... I don't think she's really a she... I think she's a dead man/possibly someone who was burned alive (explaining why she's always warm, never eats or sleeps, etc... kinda like Coldhands, but the opposite)... She/he was consumed by fire and reborn in it...

The worship of R'hllor is an ancient tradition across the Narrow Sea, but did not gain much popularity in Westeros. Like other types of magic, the magic of R'hllor seems to have faded after the last Targaryen dragons died. While serving at his temple at Myr, Thoros did not see any visions in the flames. Seeking to spread the faith to Westeros, the red priests sent Thoros to King's Landing to convert the fire-obsessed Aerys II. Thoros was not able to perform any impressive fire magic, and Aerys ignored him.

Also, on another note, I just read the theory that Alleras (The Sphinx at the Citadel that met up with Sam upon his arrival) is actually Sarella Sand... The Sand Snake out there playing her own game...

Hadn't even thought of that until I read it today... Interesting...

Nah, the Greyjoys have never been as boring as the Martells. The only interesting one got his skull crushed by Gregor.

One of my favorite chapters in the 2nd book is when Theon tries to mac his sister.

I think my resentment for the Greyjoys was the fact that they kinda took a dominant role in the story telling at a point when I didn't really care about them...

I'm with you on the macking on Asha thing... That was great... but I like Theon's chapters...
