WR FA Poll: Who's your preference?

no one. I like the potential of our young guys, and i'm pretty damn sure pilares is going to be a beast too.

I still think it would be better to get a someone, Gettis and Lafell have potential, but can still fail.

I get your point and that's a possibility. I'm in the group that believes our biggest problems the last few years was playcalling and quarter back play, not the WR so much. With those issues addressed, I think our WR corps can be much better.

Idk I feel pretty confident that Gettis is going to be somebody. He's intelligent and he's far more talented than Keary Colbert, DJ, and maybe even Drew Carter ever were.

And I think we saw some catches out of LaFell that our previous failed rookies would have never caught.

This all assuming that Steve Smith is still on the team. Edwards will be given a chance this year so who knows. You can certainly justify signing a WR but I just don't want to risk burying our own talent if we think they can play.

Edwards and Jones drop too many balls. Has any team Edwards ever played for been happy with him?

I am kinda like Cracka--WR takes a year or two to develop. Our young guys will become seasoned. We could add a lower end veteran, but I do not see us paying what these guys will make. If we upgrade, do it at TE. Maybe if we split Rosario and Barnidge more, we find the compliment we need. What if we went after Z. Miller and used Rosario and Barnidge as hybrid TE/WRs and Shockey (old and a 1 year deal) and Miller at TE? We would get a better quality player who is 25, solidify TE for years to come, and save a few million. You don't have a veteran WR taking reps from the young guys who are developing.

I honestly do not understand why people are putting so much faith in LaFell, Gettis, Pilares, & Edwards.

Gettis may turn out to be great for us, but seriously are people just choosing to ignore the names of Colbert, Carruth, and Carter? Our rookie WRs showed promise last season with sh*t at QB, but we have another rookie QB coming in and he needs some damn help. Our offense overall needs some damn help yet some are fine with our receiving core? Give me a break.

I've said this before: Adding another WR that our coaching staff wants can only help us.

At least Gettis and LaFell showed something last year. I'm ignorant when it comes to Pilares but he doesnt excite me like he does others for some reason, who also have probably never seen him play. Edwards, I want him to do good, and let's face it, he is on the roster at least one more season. We have tons of bodies, but not a ton of talent. It depends on what the short and long term goals are of the coaching staff, and what they think would help our QB's develop the best. My pick is Rice, a 6'4 frame with Gettis and LaFell at both 6'3, that is gonna cause some problems for defenders.

I wish UNCW had a football team so I could ride the jock strap of any of their players in the NFL (not that they would have any)

My sources tell me we're looking at at UDFA Seahawk baller...

Ahmad Grant 6'3" 180 from Peoria, Illinois.

I know he played guard, but with Chudzinski's ability to coach up basketball players...we could have something.

:coolgleamA:

UNCW Football: Undefeated, Untied, Unscored on...

Seahawk Alum here (BA01, MA03).
