Anderson wants to remain a Panther

Recommended Posts

Thomas Davis, Jon Beason, and Na'll Diggs were one of the best groups of linebackers in the league.

James Anderson, Dan Connor, and an out of position Beason, not so much. I know fans like to prove a linebacker's value by pointing out the numbers of tackles they make, but keep in mind that the Panthers DTs didn't exactly swallow opposing team's RBs up and the linebackers were almost always left to clean the play up.

I know how important the defensive tackle position is for great lineback play/production. To use that as an excuse to argue that anderson isn't good, is terribly weak, ESPECIALLY since you brought up Diggs.

Good ol' relaible, Diggs. Wasn't the most talented LB. But was a smart veteran that could play all the linebacker spots. He was a nice fill in guy.

Anderson's play made an impact. Every game. He had a better season, bigger impact, than diggs has ever had.

Amazing how much people diss poo, claim they know something, when they really are just talking out of their ass. Sure makes entertaining reading, though.

Apparently I said that Anderson wasn't any good.

I love Anderson, believe he is someone that we really need to resign. I remember him having a breakout game against the Vikings a couple years back. I just remember him being in so many plays on the defensive end. I knew from that game forward he'd be a keeper.

James Anderson is Landon Johnson when he left the Bengals. Super promising LB with superb stats. I'm basing this soley off of my own speculation. I hope we keep him, but not for a poo ton of money.

oooo weee I'm a little skeptical of his production as well but Landon Johnson noooo wayyy. He's about 25x better than him.

:smilielol5: Another thread of people dissing one of the few bright spots on the team. Let's let him go so we can have cap space and sign someone at another position of need and then when they show promise get rid of them too:idea:

Conner is a good MLB who can start in the league. Unfortunately, he might be a fragile LB. Beason, however, is one of the best players in the league when he is in the middle. He is an adequate OLB but the Panthers are a better team when #52 starts in middle.

I've heard Conner lacks the ability to play outside.

Anderson was a very fast and athletic player when he came into the league, smart too. He just lacked the instincts that guys like TD and Beason have. It was finally starting to come together for him last year. He needs to be kept. Whether you choose him over TD is a call that only the coaching staff has enough knowledge of to make.

i guess you dont realize that the job of the DT's was to keep blockers off the LB's so they can make the play. JA is not that bad in coverage, do i want him manned up with a TE no. but he held his own, and he is a 3 down LB. now DC on the other hand is strictly a 2 down MLB. JA can play either weakside or strong.
