Stewart wants us to hang on to Williams

They cut him loose because there was nothing left and he was a workhorse. D-Will isn't a workhorse and has a lot left and by your example we at least have 4-5 years left.

How do you know that? Where is it written in stone that DWill has 4-5 more years?

And most of all, why are we going to pay for a workhorse back and not get one?

How many yards did LT have last season compared to DWill?

Come on man.

name 2 RBs on a active NFL roster who had the touches Williams had prior to entering in the NFL. There is a reason he is wearing out......age and hits.

we do need help in those area's but we have an abundance of money you can take care of those spots and keep dwill.

I think you will clearly see that we don't as soon as the numbers start coming out.

DWill will get paid, all of you hoping for a 28 year old RB to take a hometown discount need to get real.

This is a business, not a relationship.

He was 29 IIRC.

Touches don't mean poo, it's all about age.

After 30 RB's go downhill, and fast, nothing to do with touches or carries, or the offense, it's all about the age.

*Reads and says"fug it. I'm wasting my time here. D-Will is coming back anyway. Why I am arguing?* *Never returns to thread*

That might have something to do with Rogers and Manning being the QB's of those teams. Just my guess

exactly.

Elite passing game + no run game = postseason

Elite run game + no passnig game = stay at home.

it is a passing league. 20 years ago it would have been different. Indy/Manning would have been smashed with old rules.

If touches really mean nothing, and it's AGE AGE AGE OMG ONLY AGE, would you explain how Thomas Jones was able to run for 1312 yards and 13 TDs at age 30 and then 1402 yards and 14 TDs at age 31? Or perhaps how Warrick Dunn ran for 1416 yards (his best season) at age 30?

lol so Jerome Bettis (who's had more 1,000 yard rushing seasons than DeAngelo), Willie Parker (ditto), Warrick Dunn (ditto), Priest Holmes (ditto) are all mediocre. Oh wait there's another thing 3 of the 4 guys i just mentioned in the last sentence have done that DeAngelo hasn't and that is prove they are durable enough to carry the ball 300+ times.

trolling RB is trolling.

Re-read my post. I said I was talking about TWO feature backs, not 1. In their respective duo's, those guys you mentioned would be the ONE feature back in the duo I was referring to. The other guy would NOT be the feature back (Your TJ Ducketts, your James Stewarts', and the other players who may have been great later on, but not necessarily when they were in the duo). And even the other players IN the duo who I would consider the feature back didn't preform to the level that DeAngelo and Jonathan did. There was not one duo that had two 1000 yard rushers, not to mention two 1100 yard rushers.

This is exactly the poo that you're flinging on the wall hoping it sticks.
