CJ thinks we should go after Sidney Rice what do you think?

Now does that sound like a DE thats gonna test free agency?

I took it as a positive too, but he did not say "We" and CJ is technically a Panther right now. Since I looked at Atlanta's bottom line and those of other 4-3 teams, I do not see but 3 or 4 teams able to challenge us for him without major sacrifices. Their needs would have to feature DE as a "must get."

Rice would be nice, but he has been a bit injury prone. I also think we should wait to see how our 4 young guys materialize--even if we lose Smitty. After 2 seasons, Gettis, Lafell, Edwards, and Pilares could be good.

It is starting to look (maybe no fire but a lotta smoke) that Smith is gone. San Diego, Baltimore, New England, Chicago are names I have recently heard attached to SS. Third rounder is also what I have heard. I think if we trade to a good team, a second rounder is in order.

Will be less expensive, more consistent, and has really been dropping passes less and less the past few years. If Rice actually wants to be here I have no problem in us taking him, but there are a range of talented WRs in this FA to choose from...they're just very different types.

I used to be for Rice midst this lockout but I think my football senses are coming back now that the season is truly in sight and sh*t can commence.

Adding another WR is very important because honestly ask yourslef how good you though Ray & Keary were gonna be going into their 2nd years. I think Gettis is definitely gonna work out but you never know. It only benefits us bringing in more talent at WR. The Texans, Saints, Packers, etc. all have a load of talent at the position and look at what they're doin

I think I'd like to know what team Johnson will be playing for this season before I decide how seriously to take his suggestions.

As a side note on the topic of receiver options, a buddy of mine with a friend that works at the airport says his friend swears Plaxico Burress was through here last week. Said he asked him what he was doing and he responded that he couldn't talk about it but said "read between the lines" (or something of that sort).

Not sure I take it too seriously. "Friends that work at the airport" don't have a great track record.

I think CJ stays in Carolina, as for Rice.... not sure, he fits the mold that Chud likes in a WR.

So does plex though, not sure how I feel about that if they did sign him.

I also would be skeptical of he Air port Friend.
