HIGHEST Paid players by position--WOW.

this is in fact the real world. Unlike you, someone who might make middle management some day if you blow enough people to overcome how mediocre you are, cam newton is worth a poo ton of money. Like, more than you can conceive. There's about 20 people in the world that can do what he can do.

Let's go back to your hypothetical real world. Let's imagine you can do something only a handful of people can do. You can't, of course, there's nothing unremarkable about you.

How much would you get paid for that skill? Additionally, would you consider it the real world if you didn't get to choose who you worked for? Or there was a maximum of what you could get paid?

I didn't respond to that because it's senseless. Not only does what happens in pee wee football have nothing at all to do with the NFL, but you're dumb as poo if you think a number one pick making 30 million v 70 million would stop hypothetical hanger ons or whatever no sense you're afraid of.

I love it when people that have almost 9,000 posts on an online forum try and take a shot at others about their vocations. Maybe one day you can make the Huddle Hall of Fame and show off your number of posts and "swag" to your kids. I bet they will be proud and impressed. LOL

The difference is in the real world most people are at-will employees or sign 1 year contracts. If they don't produce, you can replace them. In the NFL, you get stuck with them and their cap space for years like Russell.

Whenever teams don't want the #1 pick overall and try and trade it away every year, that should tell you the system isn't working. I remember hearing a stat last year during the draft that only 75% of 1st round picks become starters. We aren't talking about elite status, just starters. Herein lies the problem.

This is true to an extent but you also have the 2nd and 3rd string players who are making maybe a half a million or more who are fighting every day just for the right to say they play in the NFL. They bust ass and certainly deserve their rewards if not more.

Cam doesn't deserve the money he's going to make. Most of the high profile players do not deserve the money they make. D.Hall, Haynesworth it is pathetic that they make that much money. However you can't blame the players for getting what they can. I don't personally hold it against Cam that he's going to make a poo ton of money, but I do hold it against society and our system that glamorizes the game and finds justification to pay players like this.

Let's face it. All of these #1 picks and top players paid are paid to do what?

Play on grass. That is their job, and they maybe the very best at what they do, and they maybe only 1 of 20 people(unlikely) who can do what they do but they are paid to play a game.

Gah just using the name Armanti cues a Southcak hater post. He's got Armanti radar.

Let's imagine that you're a fan of a team. Let's call them Team X. Team X has a rival, Team Y. Team X has beaten Team Y exactly twice in 25 years. Team X would also have to win their annual meeting 38 years in a row just to tie the series.

Now, let's say a professional team drafts one of the marquee players from Team Y way too high. His performance is underwhelming and the pick unjustified, leaving fans pissed off. Wouldn't you post like SouthCak?

I could care less about the college rivalry. I left that stuff on the field when I graduated 13 years ago.

The fact that we drafted a I-AA project position switch at 33 is idiotic to be kind.

But I digress, just so everybody knows I think # 33 is way too high to draft Armanti, I will sleep well. I will say no more about him. And if he proves me wrong, I will be the first to post an apology.

Everybody already knows that it was a bad pick. Edwards had a few nuthuggers like early in the season but they're not around much anymore.
