Since Atlanta is the biggest threat to sign CJ

If Hurney lets Johnson leave -- to go to fuging ATLANTA of all places -- then he needs to be shot. Not fired, fired at.

Lol, I hope CJ doesn't leave, but Hurney shouldn't be shot over it. For some reason or another the two players I'm most worried about leaving are CJ and Anderson. I'm not too worried about Smith being traded or Dwill not being resigned.

I see a few teams wanting to pick up them and possibly starting a bidding war.

A lot of teams are going to have to spend money and big money to reach one of the two spending caps.

Julio Jones was draft WAY too high. And too many picks traded away.

I don't see how that is a problem. Means that they won't be drafting talented players for the next couple of years. Also if Julio Jones becomes a bust, guess who that is going to benefit? Everyone that is not the falcons, but mainly the Panthers because that's the team that we root for.

Then there's the other side of that coin, if jones becomes the next Rice or Irving, fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!

But but, NJPanthers said that Atlanta wanted CJ!!! And he said that Rosario was going to stay on the Panthers... he said the salary cap was going to be closer to $130mil than $120mil.

Is it just me, or does NJPanthers pretend to not only have Panthers inside sources but also Atlanta inside sources, and NFL league office sources as well? Anyone who believes this tool is a gullable SOB. How the hell would he know what's going on with the CBA talks, and htf would he know what the Atlanta Falcons plan on doing in FA?

Well a couple of things and I'm not sticking up for NJ at all.

1st thing is since teams are already over the cap, there is going to be a cap exception. You pick one player (who can make up to 20 million a year) and his cap don't count for this season.

2nd thing is the cap number has changed a bit with some reports at 120 million, some at 123 million.... ext...

Jason La Canfora for NFL reported that it would be 123 but with cap exceptions and such it would feel like 130 million.

3rd thing is it isn't out of the realm of possibility to see Rosario staying or going, also it wouldn't be a shocker to see the Falcons try to make a move to be able to sign a big time FA DE. The Falcons are currently at 103 million and can free up about 7 million by making two cuts of backup players.

4th thing is a bunch of places have been reporting the Falcon's targeting either Edwards of Johnson in FA.

Atlanta needs defensive help, something they seem to have ignored a bit. They (correct me if I am wrong) also have 3 OL to re-sign. Now, if they want Ryan upright and the ball in Jones' hands, they better re-sign Clabo at the very least. Already over $100 million in cap money, signing their few rookies and existing OL would take everything they have left. Suely they will make some cuts, but going after CJ is not atop their list right now when they do not have funds to do it. The only way CJ goes there is if he wants to go home for less money (a lot less).

The other side of the coin: Now that Cam is in the league, defensive coordinators in the NFC south will have to adjust. We did when we drafted Thomas Davis to shadow Michael Vick. It will be interesting to see how Cam impacts their DEs and LBs. Probably not until we are a threat, but it will happen.

Who knows... CJ may be willing to give ATL a discount so he can play for his home team and be on a contender.

Should have tagged CJ, I don't think the threat of losing Kalil was nearly as big of a risk...

Tony G wanted to go to a contender also...

He's still waiting.

So is Dunta.

So will CJ if he goes to a team like the Falcons.

Contender to me, are teams that at least had some success in the postseason within the last 2 or 3 years.

I mentioned in another post that NJ just does a lot of research, and formulated an educated opinion. There really is no 'insider info' in anything he says.

I found a report that we plan on not re-signing Jeff King, AND Dante Rasario. Contrary to NJ's 'educated guess', where he thought we would keep Rosario.

I found a report that Atlanta will not be considering a DE in Free Agency, also contrary to what NJ stated.

Even if NJ had a legit source within the Panthers organization, he still would not know that the Falcons are interested in CJ. He is throwing poo against the wall and seeing what sticks. Does it not appear this way to anyone else? There have been tons of people coming through the huddle claiming to have inside sources, and they all get revealed as frauds. NJ is no different.

People starved for news tend to be the most gullible. I asked him once if they were considering moving Jordan Pugh to CB. He responded that they are keeping him at S. Now, with a new coach and without knowledge of the personnel you will have and the player, I can tell you that nobody would know the answer to that question-not even Rivera.

You can tell when someone is bluffing when they provide an answer to questions that have no answer. Of course, in fairness to him, his source could be the one who is full of crap.

Must spead rep before giving to MHS again.

I can pretend to have an inside source too: My source said that they want to use Pugh primarily as backup Safety, but they may use him at CB in Dime/Quarter situations. If Munnerlynn goes down, we could see him in the nickel role because he played some nickel in college. Depends on how well Hogan picks up the defense.

With a little research you can sound very convincing. You want to know my 'source'? Marty Hurney is my source. In an article. Lol. This is all that NJPanthers is doing. Research. He forms logical opinions based on previous statements.

We are in very good cap space to have the team we have... We could easily release Davis and Andersons (DE's) and gain more cap space... Also trade Michael Jenkins or the guy taking a pay cut...

We have room to atleast get 30 mil under the cap if needed with releases and contract redo's.

All the "experts" plugged into atlanta knows we will go after a DE... Charles Johnson will be the main guy... The thing you guys have working on your side is that our GM will not over pay for him... If your FO is willing to give him 10+ mil... He will be a panther this season unless he rather give up 2 mil a year to play for the falcons.... I doubt that... Dude wants to get paid but he also wants to win

Also the guy saying we will pay Clabo 8 mil a year.... Come on now...We have been planning for possibly losing him (drafted his possible) ... I can guarantee we wont pay him that much ... We will try to resign him but for around 6 mil a year... I think a team will over pay for him tho.
