Labor Issue will shorten Cam's contract with us

Recommended Posts

Unbelievable sometimes... Sometimes I question whether some posters here know anything about football... Or do they just watch sports center and consider themselves fans?

What's unbelievable is your short-sighted attitude.

Cam comes in, is the superstar we all want to see, and think we'll see....

He can bolt for where ever he wants in four years if he doesn't like Carolina. Also, if we plan on sitting him this whole year like some think we will, that means we have 2 or 3 full years to find out if he can play. Not the usual 5 like most teams have bare minimum when drafting a guy #1 overall.

He can't bolt after 4 years, the team has the option. So if they want him hear for year 5, they say he stays and well he stays and makes a ton of money.

If he doesn't Bomb or anything, then he will be here for the full 5 years of that contract.

Also I don't expect him to sit the whole year, you don't change your offensive playbook around and incorporate more roll outs and dedicated QB runs for Clausen or Moore... Those are there for Newton and he will be a starter at some point this season. I'd bet on sooner rather then later as well.

Here's the problem: We don't know if he'll be that yet.

This helps us not spend money and be able to cut the cord after 2, 3 years if he busts.

If he doesn't, we have the option to sign him back. Like it was mentioned earlier in the thread, he'll earn anew contract if he's worth it.

Why is that a bad thing? If he doesn't like it here he should leave.

When was the last time that a franchise QB left a team at the end of their contract and went somewhere else?

Cutler was traded (and for good compensation).

Brees was shown the door because Rivers was ready to play and Brees had a bum shoulder.

You guys worrying about Cam bolting after year 4 have nothing to worry about.

You just proved my point... You have NO IDEA what you're even talking about... The team picks up the option in the final year... Guess u missed that part though. Next time u try and call someone out you may want to get your facts str8... Just sayin
