Anyone remember being 17?

Aw. You're still a baby.

My son is making his first drive by himself to Beaufort tomorrow. He'll probably get lost, even though it's a straight shot down 70. My uncle is taking him fishing.

I used to work in Beaufort/ Morehead City back in '95... NC State docks kept me busy, it was a return trip week 3 of that season that got on the Panthers' bandwagon...

The beach was only 45mins away up here in VA, we went all the time. Leave at 5am to go catch some waves at sunrise, those were the days...

I had a good friend, similar to beauxjangles' situation, whose grandparents were the 1st house on their street in Hatteras. Spent many weeks down there, although I remember being too fugged up to remember a lot of it...

I remember skipping school to make love all day with my lovely high school sweetheart but I always came for 4th period to keep from missing the whole day. Good times.

I think the bad thing is I had a very jaded highschool experience as far as drugs and partying. So by the time I got to college I thought it was time to settle down, but there were a bunch of kids from these tiny highschools around SC who were ready to go crazy. It was annoying.

Most of the friends I've had have problems with substance abuse. I recently transferred to different school and I'm going to try pretty hard to stay away from that stuff. Anybody who smokes weed as frequently as they did in high school is probably not very successful. I'm tired of watching once smart kids turn into losers.

I hope my son has better pickup lines than those idiots in Myrtle Beach last weekend.

Oh, and I just had to give him directions to get to my uncle's house in Goldsboro, too. He's only been going there for 17 years. *facepalm*

Maybe we should buy him a gps before he leaves.
