Who's in favor of bringing back Delhomme?

He would definitely come back on the cheap!!! Jerry "conveniently" left a clause out of his contract... He got paid somin like 15 mil by the Panthers for last season, then made another 5 mil for the Browns!

Jerry loves him, he knows the Team/players better than anyone, he cried in his final presser saying how much he loved the city, players, and organization...

To me it's a no brainer to bring him back to teach Cam... Let him and JC fight for backup role...

I think it would work out great!

this i agree with.

but bringing him in to legitimately compete for the QB spot is insane. Hes WASHED UP. if the cleveland browns cut him, what the fug are we going to do with him? Yes he did bring us to the superbowl, yes he is over his tommy john surgery but who cares? in with the new out with the old. and jake is OLD

I dont think anyone expects him to start, or even compete, but be more of a mentor. You know, teach Cam or Jimmy how to manage a game rather than try to start. Besides if all else fails hes better than a St. Peirre or a Testeverde.

Yes, yes, yes.

Delhomme doesn't have to start, he has valuable experience, has had success, and has been to a superbowl.

And, unlike McNabb, he actually had a chance to win it.

Jake would be a perfect mentor. I like his personality, his drive to win, and that can rub off on Cam, and hell, even Jimmy.

Cam, JC, and Jake would be an awesome QB trio. You have depth, experience, talent, aestheticism, and opportunity.

As others have said, Delhomme would be a lot cheaper as well.

It is a win / win.

i can see where your coming from. Id rather them learn as they progress then be tainted by jake. What might have worked for delhomme might not work for Cam or Jimmy since they both have completely different playing styles. Dont get me wrong, the guy was a great player, but hes lost too many steps to be any sort of impact ( whether it would be playing or "advising")

I couldn't disagree more.

Playing, maybe. But advising, he could give valuable knowledge about fundamentals, mental confidence, speed of the game, and what the defense is doing.

Jake's fundamentals are awful, his mental confidence is shot, and he's never been the best at understanding what a defense is doing.

As far as the speed of the game goes, any veteran QB can do that, including the two cam is working with at IMG.

That's what a QB coach is for. No need to waste a roster spot on an incompetent player.
