I'm simply trying to assess the competency level of our conversation. I'm afraid I may have to get my 14 year old cousin to respond to the remainder of your posts so you can have a clearer understanding.

It isn't correct to use a number in a sentence it should instead be used as a drawn out fourteen instead. :p

Rule 1.

Spell out single-digit whole numbers. Use numerals for numbers greater than nine.

Correct Examples:

I want five copies.

I want 10 copies.

Rule 2.

Be consistent within a category. For example, if you choose numerals because one of the numbers is greater than nine, use numerals for all numbers in that category. If you choose to spell out numbers because one of the numbers is a single digit, spell out all numbers in that category.

If you have numbers in different categories, use numerals for one category and spell out the other.

Correct Examples:

My 10 cats fought with their 2 cats.

My ten cats fought with their two cats.

Given the budget constraints, if all 30 history students attend the four plays, then the 7 math students will be able to attend only two plays. (Students are represented with figures; plays are represented with words.)

Incorrect Example:

I asked for five pencils, not 50.

Teh school teacher down street known as teh madre that teaches teh reading and language arts gets on to teh kids for said offense everyday and when they use a two digit number in a sentence on the crct ( it's like the bubble tests at the end of the year they're called something different everywhere) they get it wrong and she bitches at them. So .. I'll stick with that.

Clearly your mom had a huge influence on your writing ability.....

Lol nah .. I just didn't care .. I don't write cursive at all (due to my said lack of care) .. I sign my name in print as my signature and I missed 9 or 10 questions on the SAT .. I think it'll be alright :p

Edit: Hell anybody who can teach 18 out of 20 inner city black kids in a classroom how to read without a stutter and finish complete sentences without ebonics gets a cookie in my book. (Call me racist if you want but its a FACT )
