Went car shopping...

Used car prices are high right now, all the way down to wrecked cars. I drive different cars all day long, and all I really care about is driving something that won't cost me much to fix.

If its mechanical, it can break.

I don't care what kind of car you buy or where you buy it from, every kind of car and every dealership sells cars that will tear up sometimes. I own a car lot and drive an hour to work so generally I drive an older 4 cylinder car. I have some nice cars but if they're all fixed up I just don't want to drive them and take the chance of something happening to it while I'm driving it b/c I have to fix it.

I generally just like driving an older 4 cyl. honda preferably 5 speed. And the less options you have on a car, the less things you have to fix.

Beginning to look at cars for the first time in almost a decade. Will be buying used, but holy geez... when did cars get so friggin' expensive and who is actually buying the new ones?!?

Everyone I know that has had a Fit has raved about how great they are and how much crap they can fit in it.

The Fit is indeed a good value.

However, now is not the best time to buy new or used Japanese especially.

The Japan earthquake is still playing hell with supply lines. Honda dealers for instance are not getting any Fits, or Hybrid Civics or Insights which were all produced in Japan. All other models are made in USA and Canada but limited supplies due to parts issues. We normally stock maybe 600 new cars, right now we have about 250.

This also has a trickledown effect on Used Cars, prices are up!

Don'y buy unless you're sure you're getting a good deal because by September, things should be back to normal in the supply lines.
