New Cam Newton Video on ESPN

After watching the video there's a couple if things that jumped out at me...

1- he absolutely idolizes Tom Brady

This can only be a good thing... We all know that Brady is probably one of the hardest working QB's in the league... Good role model for Cam to look up to... Oh and there's those SuperBowl rings ;-)

For the first time ever, he didn't really come off as confident. It's almost as if he was in Tom's shadow, and rightfully so I guess. I just didn't really like the way he didn't really seem sure of himself. I'm probably just knit picking. But it's the first time a doubt about him creeped into my head. I'm sure it's nothing though...

I noticed that too. Obviously I don't know the truth, only he does, but he was probably just making sure he came across humble because a lot of the conversation revolved around his time with Brady. Bottom line is he doesn't ever seem like the type to crack under pressure, and he hasn't been cocky to the point that it is affecting his desire to work hard. Anything between those two extremes and we can't ask for anything better given the current situation.

One of the most impressive things I've heard him say is he wants to take a little from each of the elite QBs in the game today. He wants to be his own man, but he realizes there are things he can take from each player. Will he ever be the field general that Peyton is? No, but if he strives to be and couples that study effort what he has learned from watching film on Brady(leadership), Brees(craftiness in pocket), Rodgers(knowing when to use the legs), Roethlisberger(don't rape), and Rivers(how to use Chud's offense) he can make himself a better player.

Lots of times guys with elite talent at any position seem to think they don't need to work as hard, but luckily it doesn't seem he has that mind set AT LEAST right now.
